The Wonderbolts are such a great creation of the show... combination celebrities, athletes and military, with a little bit of super-hero styling thrown in via flight-suit design. Spitfire covers a fair amount of character ground herself, from the laid-back personality at the Gala to the drill sergeant attitude on display at the Wonderbolts Academy. It's no surprise that she's become a favorite recurring character in the show.I suspect we'll be seeing much more of her in Season 4, as Dash and Twilight have had the most drive behind their long-term continuity, and Dash's is the one with the most need for some kind of resolution now that Twilight has already ascended to Princesshood. The question for me is, can Dash ever become a full Wonderbolt and still hang out in Ponyville most of the time, or is it a full-time gig?

Spitfire. Hard core captain, or kind hearted celebrity? It was seriously confusing to see her complete change of attitude in the Wonderbolt Academy episode (it didn't help that they changed the voice actress). I guess you could argue that it's her job to be loud and abrasive to the new recruits, and that once you get to know her, you see that she's the kind of person you want as your friend. I hope they make that connection in the coming season.
I would really like to see an episode where the mane six start to drift farther apart, Twilight with her princess duties, Applejack expanding her business on the farm, Rarity traveling to Canterlot more often due to the success of her clothing line, Pinkie Pie wanting to spend more time with her family, and Fluttershy staying in Ponyville with her animals. If such an episode exists, I feel as though Spitfire would be the one to remind her of how important her friends are, as if she could relate.
Anyways, here's to more Spitfire and the Wonderbolts.

Annoyed. She was a misled leader in "Wonderbolt Academy", but in "Rainbow Falls", she was an outright bitch.

Exactly! Glad I wasn't the only one. She was an underhanded, conniving bitch out to make herself look good. Plus she took Fleetfoot with her. The pair might as well be labeled as antagonists now.
Wonderbolt academy was bad. She could be perceived as unsure of herself or her decisions and was not really DI material when she told her recruits they would never amount to anything. That's NOT the Spitfire I knew. But this past episode blew it for her.

That's a lovely portrait. I really like how her hood looks when it's down - quite cozy, almost like a turtleneck.
I'm not a fan of the militaristic portrayal of the team, the academy and Spitfire in Wonderbolts Academy, but I very much like them as a team of elite flyers. I do hope that they'll continue to make appearances (of this I'm sure!), and that Dashie will eventually be able to join them. I'm less sure that THAT will be shown on the show, although it would be great to see that sort of change and development, and the show's proven before that it doesn't shy away from eschewing the static nature of other cartoons with their never-changing worlds.

Supreme work, she looks phenomenal, love the effect and colour of her hair and eyes, all fiery vibrant and lively.
I hope we see some more of her in S4 as well, she is easily one of my favourites of the reoccurring characters. Β
Though I really hope for both Twilight and Rainbow that they can continue hanging out with their friends and fellows in Ponyville.

Best wonderbolt
I really started to grow a liking to Spitty after the academy episode. She (and the others bolts) really do make great and fun recurring characters.Β
Also, she is voiced by the lovely Anneli Heed in the Swedish dub of the show. How can anyone not love a pony that can make eve simpleΒ Γ€pplepaj Β sound so unbelievably sexy?

I sense Rainbow being a Wonderbolt part time, not full time. While she would love to be one I would imagine she'll want to stay with her friends even more now that they have this unbreakable bond. I can see Spitfire try to teach Twilight to fly along with Rainbow, the training how to fly episode seems inevitable.

So you're selective for what is canon and what isn't.
She was in the air for no more then five seconds? That's only because it was at the very end, and in that brief moment she flew off the castle and performed a mid air loop. That demonstrates that she does in fact know what's she's doing. Or you can ignore what you saw in the the actual show, and use EQG as example for why she sucks at flying, when it's already been stated by the creators that EQG doesn't tie into the show, in the same vein as the comics don't.Β

Where are you getting these facts that musicals don't count? Are you really trying to say that everything that happened during "Winter Wrap up" musical didn't actually happen? Chrysalis didn't reveal her plan during "This Day Aria" because it's doesn't count? There's plenty of more examples but I'm done with this ridiculous conversation.Β

Music didn't spontaneously come out of the aether, everyone didn't stop what they were doing to join in a song and dance number, Chrysalis didn't reveal her plans to anyone on her side of the fourth wall, and Joe didn't really dance with Jerry in "Anchors Aweigh."
