This was my fave of the week! Surtur was always a looming evil in the background during Simonson's early run on Thor, just a few panels each month, wetting our appetites and imagination! Brilliant writing and showcasing how great the comic medium can be when used properly!

Again, I believe my enthusiasm and utter fun over covering one of my fave runs in comics, Walt Simonson's Thor series, shows in my art!

Walt Simonson made Surtur his own, that for years after EVERY artist covered him exactly the way he drew him. Just until recently artists have been doing a new take on Surtur. For me, Simonson's version will always be the one that pops to mind when i think Surtur!
