After over a month of debating with myself over what to do for this contest entry and tossing around idea after idea after idea and scrapping them all because none of them seemed good or interesting enough, I finally settled on this... which was, ironically, my original idea. I had initially scrapped this idea, though, because I didn't think I could actually pull off drawing a jet ski... but, in the end, I decided to go for it anyways.
And I have to say, I'm rather surprised with how well it turned out.

Anyways, I wanted to do a pic that represented something that meant Summer to me. Something that embodied summer, that my mind automatically associated with the word summer, something that I cherished and loved about summer. And this was definitely one of the top candidates. I've always loved to jet ski, ever since I was a wee child and technically wasn't really legal to drive them >>;
I've never been much of a motorcycle rider, but damn do I love jet skis. It's like... I know it sounds cheesy, but it really is like flying over the water. That, and I love jumping, doing tricks on them, and then just... jumping off the back and swimming around.
When I was a kid, we'd go to various lakes and large rivers and I'd spend all day out there on the lake, zooming around and playing on the jet skis. And when I wasn't riding them, I'd be watching my dad do his insane cookies where he'd spin around so tight it'd throw him off, and then in order to pull himself back on he'd sit there and bob the jet ski vertically in the water...

AHEM. I'M RAMBLING.
So, yeah. Decided to draw Cellent on a jet ski. Used a few refs, both for the jet ski and for the water, and even though they're not perfect I'm rather happy with how well they DID turn out, especially since I did it all through derping and no tutorials. With the exception of those hands ugh. I was going to make the jet ski more of an Irken-y color, but then I decided to go more with Cellent's theme colors. Because apparently Irkcellent has OFFICIAL JET SKIS LOOK AT THAT LOGO.
Also Cellent's wet suit is a special wet suit that is made of super buoyant materials. So it's basically a life jacket BASICALLY I'M SAYING DON'T GO JET SKIING WITHOUT A LIFE JACKET KIDS. Water safety first, yo.

And I'm sure Cellent would agree.
