this has turned out great. it's a bit of a shame you don't think you'll colour it.

yeah i know. I just have this thing that if it doesn't look good it'll disappoint me.
My coloring and drawing skills are not on the same level. I guess it's b/c i've started drawing realistically and my coloring skills are like back when i was doing anime stuff... if that makes sense lol.

yeah, i understand. i'm in a similar thing. my shading looks more realistic than my colouring because my colouring looks more like cartoons. it's difficult to get everything all on the same level (especially since people are their own worst critics more often than not.)

every little bit of practice is a little bit closer, and a new lesson learned. i've learned how to mix one colour into some of my drawings with a level of success, just to add more interest and detail. it also brings out some of the contrast better. it's only a small step, but i've been liking the results and that encourages me to work on it more.
and lets face it, if we were to ever do a really horrible job, there's no rule that says we have to upload it, or even ever admit to it's existence. lol.

lmao, yeah i was thinking that way too. It just doesn't exist, simple as that.
that's awesome to hear. What do you color with?

there's a small trick i use for the colors to smooth. So there won't be any white spots from the texture of the paper.
if you color with what color you wish, could be lightly or hard, place a coat of white color pencil on it, lightly or hard and then place the same color originally and the color just glides on it. There's still some texture but it looks better then before.
you probably know that already but just in case. What's the trick you use?

i actually didn't know that. i'll defiantly keep it in mind. usually i use the shavings from the pencils (not the wood bits obviously) and a q-tip (rather than my fingertip) to help even out the colours as much as i can.

i hope it helps.
That's coo' much interesting then using a tisse, which is sometimes what i would do in classes.

i used to use tissues too and they're still good in a pinch, but i found the q-tip had much better control, and i didn't get it all over my hands to smug mess all over the place. lol.

yeah and it turns out q-tips aren't even for you ears lmao.
weird.
But that'd be one way to use them, i'll do so whenever i do traditional work, which may be soon considering i'm going to start taking art classes soon.

i know right, and i'm pretty much convinced that's the only reason why people buy them. lol.
good luck with your classes
