Description Here he finally is, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse: Pestilence. It's the third in my series. Go here for War, and here for Death.

What sparked his creation, was this photo by ~B30wuLf . What I saw in it, is what I made of it: a dead, poluted landscape. As the photo is no stock, I thank ~B30wuLf for his permission to use it.

Credits:
-"Kaipuhan Sulfur Vent" by ~B30wuLf for the background.
-"Copper gone bad" by *thespook for the extra color and texture on the background.
-Stock.xchng , "Breadfruit Texture" by ~ missmiserystock and "EnigmaStock_BeachRockTexture2" by ~ enigmastock for the extra color and texture on the gasmask.

---

And I looked, and behold a white horse: and his name that sat on him was Pestilence, and he that sat on him had a bow.
and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

Excelent reason to make it a favorite Gasmasks can be pretty sinister; what's not to like?

It seems to me as though Pestilence will indeed conquer the earth after we humans have fallen. Heh, they already have enough control over us all.

It stands to reason that diseases would. Though, without life humans, there would be few organisms to infect

Sorry for the double post, but I'd like to throw my 2 cents in- I LIKE it with the text- the scripture quoting is really what bring deeper meaning to these pieces.

As for the text...I'm afraid that discusion is no longer relevant; I've changed to a different font about a month after that...'incedent'. Thanks for your support, though

I suggest you gain some tact Mr. LlamaGod and Mr. Sterculius. There are plenty of ways to tell someone you don't like the text or image without being a bastard about mmmkay? Anyhoo, it's no ones decision but the artists on what goes on their pic. If you don't like it, be somewhat nice about saying it, perhaps, maybe you can even get it to sound civil!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sterculius In reply to Soul-In-StItChYs [2004-06-05 09:03:09 +0000 UTC]

Not an option in this case.

I'm going to go on the assumption that you are blind.

Soul-In-StItChYs In reply to sterculius [2004-06-05 16:49:31 +0000 UTC]

And I will go under the assumption that you sir, are an idiot.

sterculius In reply to Soul-In-StItChYs [2004-06-06 02:30:07 +0000 UTC]

If you feel you must.

However, since you are presumably blind, how would you know an idiot looks like?
Unless of course, there were any reflective surfaces near you right before you lost your sight.

Soul-In-StItChYs In reply to sterculius [2004-06-06 03:41:29 +0000 UTC]

Ah, no. Sir, I'm afraid you don't need to see an idiot, one only needs to hear him, or SEE him type words on a computer.

I'm all for constructive criticism. Talking trash, however, is everything but constructive criticism. If you haven't got anything usefull to say, please keep your thoughts to yourself.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sterculius In reply to Hellwolve [2004-05-31 08:29:58 +0000 UTC]

I'm pretty sure he just gave you some constructive criticism. It may have been harsh, but he was right. The text you added looks horrible.

To be constructive, I'll say: You need to change the type treatment...fast.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Hellwolve In reply to sterculius [2004-05-31 08:34:12 +0000 UTC]

Ah, but there I disagree. If, and only if, the criticism is about something to improve and polite, I consider it "constructive".

Furthermore, thanks for your constructive critcism. I happen to like the text (or else I wouldn't have added it ), but I'll see if I can find something cooler and/or better.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sterculius In reply to Hellwolve [2004-06-02 06:07:39 +0000 UTC]

Due to the fact that the text treament is so bad, I have to doubt your artistic eye in the first place. I guess that's a bit harsh, but did you create the image behind the text?

If so, I don't see how you could have even considered leaving the text like that.

If not, it is all clear.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Hellwolve In reply to sterculius [2004-06-02 14:00:29 +0000 UTC]

"Due to the fact that the text treament is so bad, I have to doubt your artistic eye in the first place. I guess that's a bit harsh, but did you create the image behind the text?"

Hah! That's a good one!

Ofcourse, with fiftytwo watchers, and about seventy views on a daily base, I'll take the risk of ripping off someone else's work.

In case you didn't see the previous part for what it is: yes, that's sarcasm. I made "Revelation 6:2" all by myself. Heck, I can back up my claim with two .PSD's.

Furthermore, who are you to doubt my artistic eye? I have a gallery with sixty seven pieces of what could be considerd as 'art'. You, at the other hand, have nothing.

"If so, I don't see how you could have even considered leaving the text like that."

Quite simple, I like it. If you don't like it, bad for you. Don't expect me to change it based upon your disliking of it.

Leaves me wondering: what do you expect?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sterculius In reply to Hellwolve [2004-06-02 21:03:58 +0000 UTC]

I don't have anything here because...I just registered. Plus, I have my own means of hosting images.

Anyhoo, I still considering it quite funny that you would actually think the text looks anywhere near good. I dare you to ask anyone, and they'd tell you it looks horrible...unless they're being nice.

The image is nice, though.

"I don't have anything here because...I just registered. Plus, I have my own means of hosting images."

Eh, you're probably right. Can't tell for sure anyway. But I hope you can see how I have my doubts, when all your activity here on DA is commenting on this single piece.

At one hand, I could say I should feel honoured, at the other hand I could say you're picking on me, or picking me out.

See where I'm going?

"Anyhoo, I still considering it quite funny that you would actually think the text looks anywhere near good. I dare you to ask anyone, and they'd tell you it looks horrible...unless they're being nice."

Laugh all you want, think of it as the funniest thing in the world: it won't change a thing. For now, the text stays.

As for that dare...check my newest Journal in a couple of minutes.
