PERSONALITY
Hui Li (mostly called Li) is a young but skilled healer. He’s very mellow and optimistic—it’s almost impossible to make him angry or annoyed, though he is sometimes disappointed or sad. He has a very gentle disposition and is very good with children.

Li is very generous and often goes out of his way to help others. He never says no when someone asks him for help, and because of this he ends up doing many odd tasks (he doesn’t mind, though). He has a weakness for people and animals in trouble, and so has an assortment of misfit animals and people staying/boarding with him—they live in the upper floor of his house. He often heals people who can’t pay him anything for it, as well.

HISTORY
Li doesn’t know where or when he was born; he considers his “birthday” to be the day he was left on his adoptive mother’s doorstep. His age is a guess from her; she often said that he must be the son of a high-class individual, because of his looks and intelligence. Having already had several children of her own, she was quite old but quite experienced, and she raised him well. Li gets much of his personality from her, especially his empathy and kindness toward the less fortunate.

Li's mother inspired him to become a medic. He learned about pressure points and the value of traditional medicine from her, as well as how to relate to his patients. After his mother contracted an illness for which there was no known cure, Li left their home at sixteen to seek formal medical training. He desperately learned everything he could and returned home two years later. Despite his best efforts, he was unfortunately unable to save her, and she died when he was about nineteen. Lonely, he then began taking in animals and gijinka, and has lived this way ever since (he has now come to terms with his mother’s death). She left him everything. The house he lives in is hers.
