straightforward and mellow, deniel's a nice guy with a stubborn streak. he keeps his morals and origins close to his heart, which has earned him the family nickname "rock": immovable and dependable.

deniel's a pretty smart guy; he loves exploring and traveling more than anything. he's somewhat of a free spirit, always moving around and finding new things to do--but, come harvest season, you won't find him anywhere but with his family, helping out on the farm back home. he's always willing to lend a hand, especially when the going gets tough, and he's built up plenty of muscle from a life of hard work.

deniel travels sparingly, only carrying the essentials, and he doesn't need much to be happy. even though he's often alone with his pokemon, he's a very social guy, and makes a great friend. he's got a good sense of humor and a straightforward, honest way of looking at things that can get him into trouble at times--he's got no problem speaking his mind--but more often helps him get where he needs to go, no matter where that is.

brief history:
deniel grew up on a farm in the northeastern part of johto. he was raised in a country sort of family, and has an accent that he can't seem to shake no matter where he travels (not that it matters much to him). learning the value of hard work was one of deniel's earliest lessons, and his parents instilled good values in both him and his sister early on.

while his sister loved farm life, deniel always wanted to travel, and set off to see johto pretty early in his life. he loves a challenge, and enjoys battling with his pokemon almost as much as he enjoys traveling. before he was pulled through time, he was working his way down to the path over mt. silver. he wanted to challenge the pokemon league and the kanto gyms.

personality: loic treats the rest of the team, including deniel, as his pack. he's serious and protective, and often spends the night standing guard and keeping deniel warm. out of all the team, he probably spends the most time outside of his pokeball, helping deniel cross treacherous terrain and fight wild pokemon and trainer battles.
