Description Hi gang!

Still alive. My latest piece. Done in 3dsmax and Photoshop. Stupid name... but that planet had to have a name. Orbiting a hostile world a little jungleplanet named "noitami".

My first planets with 3dsmax. Took me quite some time to figure the planet-making-progress in 3dsmax out. Hope it shows (the effort I put in this I mean).

Anyway. Enjoy!

Edit: Made some small changes. The shadowed part of the main-planet blends now more with the background (I hope).

Edit 2: I wasn't really satisfied with the mainplanet and changed some things regarding the clouds. I think it's an improvement.

I like how the atmosphere gets thicker towards the edges. But I think the shadowed side needs to have some red ambient light to make it look like part of the scene, rather than just being pasted on top.

Love that little green one though !

Very nice work, as I would also say that I feel that the planet can use some post-work, I feel declined to assert that due to the fact I don't even use 3dmax. Very nice work, and if you don't mind me asking, how do you do about making your stars? I'm always looking for new ways to create them.

Thanks a lot. How do I make the stars? I use the Universe-plugin and refine that result with some techniques known from the famous Greg Martin tutorial. For the background nebula I use a lot of textures and blending stuff.

Ah interesting method, I've been meaning to look into more methods of stars for a while, but alas no time.
