Some say the man met his bitter end on a dirty floor in a dilapidated shack.Others say that he is alive and well, living a life of anonymity in some remote exotic locale.
Every now and then rumours pop up that he has been spotted, In Hawaii, or in a reserve in Kenya, or a remote village near the North Pole.
The rumours lead their own life, kind of like the "Elvis is alive," and "Paul is dead," type urban legends.
In the end, who's right?
