It's been a hot minute since I last sculpted a phoenix, my one previous attempt being back in 2015. But I was recently commissioned to sculpt one in traditional fiery colors and I jumped at the chance. I wanted to make her standing with her wings outstretched, which made it hard to find a good angle to get a photo from - this was the best I could do. I really like how the flame-tipped wings turned out. Kind of one of those happy accidents that I want to keep in mind for future projects. c:
Crafted from Premo polymer clay, Lumiere Lusters Gold Dust Opal and Picante flakes, Swarovski crystal elements, and hand-painted glass eyes.
