I think this comic page can show what a real mother is like. The antelope getting arrested isn't a real mother, but you can tell by Nick's feelings and emotions that his mother raised him right.
And it looks like Judy now will get into a bit of trouble for that slap, but nobody insults a good mother. That's just common decency.Β

Having met Nick's mom multiple times, Judy knows how important she is to Nick and have enough respect for her. And I believe, these are some of moments you do not cross the line with her.
