I've tried to become a recruit myself, but my father is the only one standing in my way.

I want to join the military badly, and I'm sure if I was a boy, my father would let me. Apparently I'm not, and my dad thinks I'm helpless. I want to be a fighter, not sit at home and watch America go to shit.
