Oh, I somehow like the idea behind this! The one reason is probably because I wanted to realize it already since summer 2004 and only recently got one of my models to actually do this. At least I had time enough to think it over. The second reason is because it's just so damn cool polar: the basic idea behind it is actually that of a couple where the guy brings her roses, but she hates him, so she just rips the poor roses' heads off. So if you wonder what she holds in her right hand - it's the stem of the rose. (I wasn't sure if I shouldn't make it lighter for clarity's sake, but in the end I left the lightning as it is) Why she hates him is not important. But it is not really serious, it is rather funny and ironic at the same time. A well done serious farce, as you would say. Well I must say - we had our fun while shooting it. ^^ The year's time gave me a pretty clear idea about how I wanted it. The grungy and grainy walls, the falling petals, the vulgar contrast and first of all the green color - most of it was done already while shooting, so I didn't have to edit it much. It took about 30-40 hits though, because we just couldn't make the petals fall right. And guess what? In the end we chose the very first picture of all. u.u' Now that's just like me. But her face expression makes me both giggle and hate the guy with the roses at once.
About the editing: I pushed the contrast and shadows somewhat further and I had to increase the size of the walls, because it looked too caged. I still would have the walls spacier, but I don't want to edit my photos that much. n.n And the petals look really poorly edited, I agree with that. But they were just so hard to see, and I wanted them to stand out a bit more. And there is also some amateur brushing on the walls... I know, it looks quite amateur-done, but at least the intention was professional *lol*
We (the precious model) thought about including a guy crowling somewhere in the picture, but I think it is better without it. What do you think? Also the noise in the photo is a chapter for itself... originally there was some noise from the beginning, so I had to rather remove it from the model's skin, but then I thought I could feed the walls somewhat more. So on one hand I decreased it and on the other I have raised the amount of noise. I wonder if it has a bad effect on the picture.
Oh yeah, one more: I'm not sure if Glamour is the right section for this one. Anyone some other ideas? Maybe Miscellaneous. Because I am tired of submitting to the Emotive Portraits one...
