Should my health permit me,Would I not raise my head?
Lightly, from this pillow
To look upon (and in) thine eyes
(speckled grey with concern)
And speak, though I be bed-ridden
No tear shall ye spill on mine brow
No sob (or whine) to pierce mine ears
For when I wake
(if I do wake)
I shall lay ye down
Upon this sickly bed
Fall lightly to shallow sleep
Alas, never to wake.
