Love the colours, and reminds me of a watercolour image. Kind of makes me think of painted porcelain, not sure how to best describe it. But I really like it.

Hmmm....Β Well, remember to ask yourself "Why".Β It's the most powerful writing tool you have.
Why does the character want this?
Why are they where they are now? (How did they get here?)
Why does this character believe this or that?
Why ....
Why ....
Why ....
Β I wish you luck.Β I have a hard time answering these questions.Β It's not easy to write and, personally, I find it easier to procrastinate.

Hey there, just want to give my input because (although I'm no professional) I've been making comics from start to finish for about ten years now. And yes, the stories from the early years were simply awful.Β
It is impossible to figure everything out by thinking about it! The only way to make something "perfect"--is to start making mistakes. I know you've already seen that as you've grown as an artist. Imagine if you had been too afraid to ruin one of your paintings because you did not have the skills to do it. Sure, your old work might not be what you want it to be, but it's old now. And now you are able to create things that come closer to your expectations.
So in the same way, you can't expect your story to come out just right, but doing it will help you grow. It would be a shame to let your fears keep you from becoming something great. And along the way, you will have some story moments that come out PERFECTLY and some things that just flop. That's okay! It's all a natural part of the process.
I hope you will consider this story the first of many (because you have many years ahead of you) and just get started.

Yeah, I have similar feelings myself, but I'm not conceited to presume I understand what you're going through because we're different persons. I just want you to know that if you wanna talk about it you can do that here, no judgement or anything. And in the end just take the time to figure out yourself on this aspect. Whatever you choose to do and whenever you do it is only up to you, and I for one look forward to it.

You will never be 100% satisfied with your story.Β *sigh*Β It's the curse of the creator.Β We will always see the flaws in our work.Β Even when everyone is singing our praises and giving us awards, we will not feel we deserve it.Β

I think most people with publicly shared characters go through this same doubt. I've revamped my favourite characters stories over and over again to try and make them perfect and if I find a single hole in any of it I become anxious that Im not good enough to be sharing anything at all.
The best way to combat this in my experience is to write all the options down and then write everything through from start to finish, and decide which story you connect best to, and polish from there. Then ask for critique from close people you trust.
I don't think theres anything I can tell you that you don't already know, and that the only way to combat anxiety is by starting, whichΒ is much easier said than doneΒ
If you ever need support you do have people behind you though, so always feel free to use that resource <3

Ugh, I absolutely feel you there, I have that habit of going back and forth and revamping , myself. I'm beginning to think that the longer I stay in the pre-production stage; the harder it will be for me to start. I've gotten a ton of planning done, and I'm happy with it, it's the connections and the details that I must figure out.. And I guess that's where my perfectionism takes hold, and I'm put off altogether. The thought of 'just starting' ignites my enthusiasm, and so I feel that I should, for the sake of my happiness, you know? This project was supposed to be fun, and here I am, making myself suffer needlessly!Β
I'm considering starting, and taking it a step at a time.Β
Thank you so much for your message Β

Also never feel embarrassed about sharing your struggles - especially one like this
Your audience is a large part of the feeling your having and connecting to everyone is a good step in feeling like you have the support to move forward!

I've been feeling almost the same things for years. I've many ideas that I love and would like to make into a comic, I've made sketches, written scenarios, even started a few pages but I never seem to be able to go beyong those steps and actually do it. The main fear is that I will engage too much time in something that won't be worth it in terms of quality in the end, and also, that it won't express exactly what I want. I mean, like my style isn't 'stabilised' nor satisfying yet and by making a long project I will imprison myself in something that doesn't suit me. Also the fear to disappoint and of "wasting" a story I love by making the wrong choices about it.
I'm telling you this because I think I've read you're sharing the same fears regarding your style which is still evolving, and yet you really often are one of the first artists I think about when looking for people with a drawing expressing great singularity and originality. Even though it's evolving, it's always deeply unique and "your" style. And it expresses lots of feeling and energy, it conveys its own atmosphere. You make great narrative choices. To me you're more than ready to do something awesome, but ah, it is hard fighting against one's own voice and doubts. I've been finding helpful to work first on somebody else's story for example, as you're not alone to make all the choices, or to start with shorter projects that seem less frightening. I really hope you will find a path that allows you to create while feeling confident and sereine.
(also I hope my comment is understandable, it was hard expressing all those ideas in english)

It's true that the longer a project is sort of put on hold the bigger the expectations might become, but like a lot of people here have been saying, it is in the end your project, and I think most of us will be overjoyed by just the fact that you're still pursuing this. I understand that fear of failure and not being good enough. I try to slowly overcome it myself by just trying to remind myself that honestly it's way worse holding something potentially good or even great back by the need to be perfect. Imma quit rambling now but in the end I think we're all here to support you and want to see your ideas come to life <3Β

All I can say in terms of advice is: Its YOUR project, do what YOU want to do. Don't worry about whether or not it fails. If you never take that step forward, you'll never know! And honestly, not taking that first step is the biggest failure there could be.
You're a fantastic artist with a beautiful and brilliant mind. Trust yourself, please!

What I have seen of Solaa's story has been very captivating and it is what originally drew me to your work, and if part of what you are debating is fractioning off of the world of The Legend Zelda to make this story fully your own (as I have seen you express desire to do) by all means do it, while the ideas were originally sourced from the world of Zelda I have seen you mold it into something that can VERY much stand on it own <3

Nghhhhhh its all part of some long journey to making something great. Take your time (not sure how long) but it will be worth it! Either that, or just go for it, write a script or notes or even like a timeline to see if you've got all the pieces for the story? Put everything out in front of you to see if you're all set ; v;
You've been putting so much work into things already. Its easier said than done as far as "ignoring it" goes but I'm sure once you get over this bump you'll be good to go
That aside, this piece came out so nice! I've always adored your traditional look and soft rendering of both hair and skin. <33
