______________________
Name: Emily Carol
Gender: Female
Species: Ratticate (albino)
Age: 26
Birthday: December 26, 1990
Ability: Guts: Attack increases when afflicted with a status condition (Sleep, Poison, Paralysis, Burn). No attack penalty due to a burn.
Height: 6’ 0”
Weight: 157 lbs.
Personality:
+ Independent: Having taken care of her mom (and herself) since she was 17, Emily is completely capable of handling herself in any situation.
+ Hard Working: And she works damn hard to provide for herself! Emily ensures that she does anything, whether fishing or some other task, to the best of her abilities. She even taught herself to use magic! Granted it’s just one spell…..
+ Alert: You never know when a Gyarados is gonna attack on the seas. Emily’s been through enough of them to have honed her senses, making her highly aware of her surroundings.
= Placid: Give yourself an award if you can get her excited, angry, or surprised about something that ISN’T Dragon Knight-related.
= Ambitious: She’s got big dreams!......Unfortunately, she’s also gone in over her head several times.
= Lonely: The poor girl just wants to spend time with people as much as she can. Sadly, this is a bit of a problem because….
- Socially Awkward: ….she’ll usually stammer about and trip over her own words, needlessly dragging out a conversation and creating an awkward position for, at the very least, herself. This is actually a more recent development.
- Impulsive: Taking on blind ambition has landed her in some tight spots before. Thankfully, she’s always able to get herself out one way or another.
History:
Emily Carol was born and raised in the port town of Porta Fisco, located along the coast of the Melokia Isles. You’d think that being born on a tropical paradise would be amazing! Sadly, things didn’t work out too well for her.
When she was only two years old, Emily’s father left her and her mother for reasons that still escape her to this day. But she didn’t mind. Her mother took excellent care of her. Learning how to swim and read fairy tales together were just two of the many things they did together. But don’t worry! Outside of her house, Emily’s only other friend was an older Sneasel named Cassius. Together, they could spend several hours playing around the islands. Whether they were exploring or just goofing around. Cassius even taught her Icy Wind! It may not seem like much, but to Emily, a close friend and a loving mother was all she needed to be happy.
She has many happy memories from her time as a child, however, as time went on, things changed.
When Emily turned 14, Cassius left the islands in his desire to travel the world. While she missed his company as she continued to do things they would normally do together, she was happy for him. She was glad that he was following his dream and wanted him to succeed. If anything, she now had even more time to spend with her mom, which she didn’t mind at all.
But when she turned 17, tragedy struck. Her mother fell ill. At first, it didn’t seem to bother her that much outside of periodic pain in her abdomen. But later, her mother became bedridden, almost in constant pain, and unable to do anything. One night, on her usual walk around the island, Emily realized that she needed to do something, especially with money being tight. After all her mother had done for her, she couldn’t stand around and do nothing. In the midst of the night, she snuck into the harbor and stole a harpoon and a small wooden boat. From that moment forward, she began to tach herself how to fish. The money wasn’t anything spectacular, but it was just enough to support her and her mom….
….until she turned 21.
One day when Emily returned home from the market, things were quiet. Too quiet. Until a weak-sounding voice called out for her. “Emily…..” She quickly became scared. Afraid of what might happen. Despite this, she rushed into her mother’s room and knelt down beside her bed.
Taking her daughter’s hand, her mother spoke to her as best as she could, sounding as if she was using all her strength just to speak. “…Emily…..Promise me…..Promise me……that you’ll remember me the way that I was….” Those where her last words before silently passing away in front of her daughter.
Two weeks later, an autopsy report was given to Emily. This report associated the cause of death to a large growth between her liver and pancreas.
For many months, Emily was struck with grief. She barely left her house and remained completely silent the few times she did leave to walk around the island. During this time, she felt a mix of emotions; sadness, anger, fear, but most prominently, emptiness. Her mind slowly began to wander, looking for something, anything to get her away from the topic of her mother. Thankfully for her, a strange, unlabeled package was delivered to her house containing a book. Curiosity had her. As she read it, she became enthralled by its contents. Legends speaking of Dragon Knights. Powerful knights who fought alongside the spirits of dragons, protecting the land and those who inhabited it with strength, wits, and unique magic never before seen by anyone. Emily knew what she wanted to do right there.
Over the next few years, Emily slowly became her old self again, but this time, with a dream. An ambition. Alongside her return to fishing, she began physically training and conditioning herself. Practicing using her harpoon for combat, honing her senses and agility, even pushing herself to learn magic and wear heavy armor (Well…..the heaviest armor she could get)! To this day, she continues training and pushing herself. All she needed now, was a chance.
One day while she was selling off her catches at the market, she overheard a conversation. She heard that something called the Yarlets Institute of Protection had arrived at the port and set up a camp of some sorts to travel between the port and Kiko Manawa. While Emily had little interest in what the Institute was doing with that island, this was the chance that she was waiting for. And you bet she jumped at it the moment she could. Worst case scenario, it’d give her some much-needed professional training.
Hobbies: Swimming (duh), Reading (about Dragon Knights), Training, Smithy work
House: Nympha
Moves:
Crunch: Emily isn’t one to immediately sink her teeth into someone, so this is usually a last resort. That being said, her teeth are very sharp and you probably won’t get away with anything less than a fractured bone. And that’s if you’re lucky.
Flame Wheel (egg): Emily cloaks herself in flames and rushes down the enemy. This might leave them with a burn. She doesn’t use this move much because the light from the fire hurts her eyes a bit.
Icy Wind (tutor): Emily summons a blast of ice-cold air, guaranteed to slow anyone down.
Quick Attack: With her high agility, this really shouldn’t come as a surprise. She lunges at her enemy so fast, that you’d think she’s teleporting!
Equipment:
- Harpoon: Do I really need to elaborate on this? It’s an ordinary fisherman’s harpoon. The only interesting thing about it is that it looks brand new.
- Scrap Armor: Surprisingly heavy armor forged from the rusty scraps of metal boats her town experimented with.
Accessories: None. What? She has a belt? It's just for show. She can't fit anything other than money in there.
Spells: (more to come in due time)
- Lancer: Emily infuses her weapon with magic and strikes, hurting the enemy mentally as much as it does physically. More effective against mages. Magic is released upon impact with anything. (the enemy, the ground, armor, etc.)
- White Wind: Combining Icy Wind with a healing spell, Emily is able to considerably heal herself and others around her with a cool, magical breeze.
- Dragon’s Breath: After taking a deep breath, Emily breathes a magical fire on her enemies. Damage increases in proportion to how much damage Emily has taken. (Note: Won’t deal any damage if she hasn’t taken a hit, so she can absolutely do this just to show off.)

-
Class/Subclass: Warrior/Bannerwoman
- Strong affinity with spear-type weapons.
- Is quite agile, despite wearing heavy armor.
- An often-used tactic is to jump high into the air and throw her spear down to impale her target. She then pounces on the target and yanks her weapon out.
- She spent a long time practicing her Lancer spell on her own.
- She's quite adept of fighting underwater with her Harpoon. (how else would she catch fish?)
Extra/Fun Facts:
- Has no formal education. She can read and do basic math, but that’s about it.
- When I say ‘basic math’, I mean that multiplication and division still escape her.
- The only thing she can write is her own name.
- Her pale skin/fur and red eyes are due to albinism.
- She also suffers from vision problems, again, due to albinism.
- On a more positive note, she does have an eidetic memory.
- She doesn’t take off her clothes and has no separate swimsuit for when she goes swimming (for pleasure or work). Whatever she happens to be wearing at the time (which is usually her “usual outfit”) will double as her swimwear.
- The longest she’s been able to hold her breath underwater is 11 minutes and 28 seconds.
- She can balance on her harpoon (or any spear, for that matter), as seen here. In fact, it’s pretty much force of habit for her to sit on her spear like that if no other seat is available.
- Has some skill as a smithy, but you’re better off seeing a professional.
- Can scale the mast of a ship in one or two jumps, depending on the size.
- She’s left handed.
- Her greatest fear is being forgotten.
- Lower body strength, yo. (remember to lift with your legs)
