Germany wasn't so far from home, at least that's what Nathan tried to tell himself.
It had been a struggle lately, trying to get himself back out there after over a year out of the show ring, fighting the anxiety that came with it and he often found himself bailing from shows at last minute like at Gudvangen. He couldn't keep doing this, it was getting expensive.

At least this time would be different, He wasn't alone, his spouse was there with him, participating in the jumping and it had been them who had convinced him to bring his youngster along. And it was them who stood there alongside the arena acting as that anchor for Nathan if the anxiety decided to raise its head.

Honestly he couldn't be more proud of the colts progress, 2 and a half years living out with the youngsters at his fathers estate had done wonders, the young horse had had the chance to just be just that, a horse; with no concerns about being stalled up or kept away from others. They'd only brought him home a short while ago and he settled in nicely in the paddock with his sire and Earnie. Sometimes Nathan pitied the poor Bay who had to put up with the antics of Black Sails and the colt, 2.0 as they lovingly referred to him.

Of course he was still green and his manners although good had room for improvement but that was all a work in progress and he seemed to be quite content standing patiently alongside his owner as the other horses were assessed. Acting as an ambassador of good behaviour for other colts his age.
