Description *Turgon was a Noldorin Elf born in Eldamar.
*In Middle-earth, Ulmo the Vala showed him the hidden valley of Tumladen within the Encircling Mountains, which was to become the kingdom of Gondolin.
*He ruled that hidden kingdom of white stone for five centuries before it was betrayed and revealed to Morgoth by Maeglin. The Dark enemy sent a huge force of Orcs, Trolls, Dragons and Balrogs, and Gondolin was overrun and its people slaughtered.
*Turgon, with his sword Glamdring in his hand, died fighting in defence of his people and his beloved city.

Very cool.  People don't think about the oldies from Middle Earth!  These guys laid the foundation for the stories everybody knows, but they never get the credit!  Cool drawing. : )

A really beautiful painting, he looks proud and determined. And with the clothes you have made something unique, looks very elvish.

Yay, someone knows that Tolkien did more than just the LotR trilogy! Lovely drawing by the way.

Thanks. Yeah, some call themselves LotR-fans and by that they mean the movie.
I call myself a Tolkien fan, cause I love the books, and that's where my inspirations comes from. Don't you agree?

yes, I totally agree. if your are a Tolkien purist I suggest that you never go to FanFiction.net because of the truly horrific perversions done to Tolkien's work on there.

Hehe, I don't consider myself a purist; I have read the parodies on the Silmarillion and LotR, and thought they were hilarious.
BUT I hate it when people do drawings of the actors from the movies rather than being creative. Copying photos is just a bloody lack of imagination, and not art in my opinion.

Parodies are funny but I speak of the Mary-Sues that people write that warp the canon(set plot of a story) beyound all recognition. I know a lot o people that would argee with you on that, especially on the Orlando-as-Legolas pictures. Fan girls are crazy.

I guess people do that with everything. Let them do their silly fan-fics.
But O'mighty Odin, don't let me see another drawing of Elijah Wood submitted in the fantasy category!!!

You have not seen horror until you have seen their fanart for their slash stories. I stumbled upon one while browsing:shudders: bad, bad memories.

I would rather read Tolkien than fan-art anyway.

Yeah, I'm looking for the Simlarillion(sp?) and if I don't find it in a library I will find the money and go buy it at Borders.

The Silmarillion, yes. Very worth reading!
I buy all my books on Amazon. Only costs a third of the price than in the stores over here. Insanely expensive. You could buy it as a pocket edition, that's shouldn't cost that much.
