Zing's [link] very first Pokemon, Chari is 10 years old and has retired for battling. She acts as a mentor for Zing's younger pokemon.

Species: Charizard
Gender: Female
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Unknown (she is from the Red version, where natures were not listed)
Item: Berzerk Gene (worn around tail; makes tail flame blue)

Attacks:
Not needed, Chari is retired, she no longer fights

Personality:
When she was younger, Chari was rather weak. In fact, Zing spent months training her just to get past Pewter City. She evolved from Charmander into Charmeleon after Zing's first Gym victory in Pewter City gym. After that, Zing and Chari saw that they would be able to beat anyone if they just kept trying.
Over the years, Chari went from being a pushover to being Zing's strongest pokemon ever. She was the first pokemon that Zing ever raised to level 100, and even though Zing had no clue how to EV train back then, Chari's stats still resembled those of an EV trained pokemons. Because of Chari, Zing was able to earn her first set of gym badges, and even compete in the Pokemon League.

Now, 10 years later, Chari has grown into a mature Charizard. 10 years old is not necessarily 'ancient' in pokemon years, but she /is/ too old to fight anymore. Her countless battles have left her body heavily scarred, but it has also made her spirit grow strong. She is very wise and patient and enjoys training younger Pokemon. However, he patience ends when she meets a snotty pokemon who has no respect for the old ways of training. Much like Zing, she believes that the old way is the best way.
Many times this has caused her to be attacked by other pokemon who become frustrated by her old fashioned views, however, just because she is retired doesn't mean she can't hold her own in a fight. Her favorite thing to say when being attacked by a younger pokemon is,
"Fool, you're 10 years too young to fight me!"
Chari will appear during the tournament from time to time to watch and give Zing advcie.

Distinguishing Features:
Chari has numerous scars covering her body and wings, caused by attacks such as Slash, Psychic, Crunch, and Fury Swipes. Her eyes are grey, unlike the green or red eyes or regular Charizard. Her tail flame is blue because of the Berserk Gene she hold there.
