Charlie and C-9 are going to cross paths soon, so this is a promo image of sorts.

Charlie returns to the Soviet Union to seek revenge on those who created her, and to put an end to these cloning programs for good. Unfortunately for her, C-9 is currently stationed in the exact same place.

CHARLIE DETAILS

The original agent she is based off was killed in 1991. Charlie was 'grown' that same year, under a Soviet program to gather intel on the West. The idea was to clone several dead soldiers, altering their minds ever so slightly to make them defect. For years they would live abroad, and when enough information was gathered, they would be "recalled" by a visual trigger, which would wipe their minds and force them to return home.

Charlie was "activated" in a hospital, a short distance from the place the original agent died. Her memories are the same as the original. The hospital staff explained to her that she had barely survived her injuries (when in actual fact she had not).

Working as intended, Charlie defected only a month after her creation. For the next decade, she worked as a freelance mercenary, usually for the enemies of her former country. She was "recalled" in 2001, though the process did not wipe her mind. Charlie retains her free-will, yet does return to the Soviet Union, seeking revenge instead of surrendering.

The fact that she did not respond as intended can be attributed to very minor personality edits during the cloning process. She was, after all, the first clone created from Agent Charlotte Maksimov's DNA. "Imperfections", as the Soviets would call them, were expected.

Charlie retains a normal lifespan. When she was created in 1991, her biological age was thirty, the same age the original agent died. Ten years later, in the present time of the setting, her biological age is now forty.

C-9 DETAILS

C-9 is the ninth clone created from Agent Charlotte Maksimov. Apart from Charlie, she is the only one alive in the present day. She was created in an entirely different program, which sought to create perfect soldiers.

Physically, C-9 is a perfect soldier. Strength, speed, reflexes and intelligence are all greatly boosted beyond normal capacity. All genetic deficiencies from the sample DNA have been removed.

Her mind has nothing in common with the original; it has been built from the ground up, creating a fierce soldier. At first C-9 obeyed without question, but as the years have gone by, numerous "defects" have arisen. She disobeyed direct orders multiple times, killing potential prisoners instead of capturing them alive. The only reason she hasn't been "decommissioned" is the fact that she does all these extreme things in service to her country. She may be unhinged, but she is loyal to the end.

C-9 was created in 1999. She has what is referred to as a "low-risk, five year operational lifespan". Five years after her creation date, her body and mind will rapidly expire. C-9 does not know this, and it is thought that if she were to find out, there is a potential to go rogue.
