This is kind of like the version in the Broadway show where Mufasa is telling Zazu how angry Sarabi has become and is considering firing him and Zazu is panicking at the thought until Mufasa tells him he was joking at which point Zazu says: "You know sire. Your sense of humor never fails to abuse me."

Zazu was just doing his job, being high consul to Mufasa. In fact he did a much better job at that than a certain no nonsense/fun-loving red crab everyone should know by now.

If looks could kill, Zazu would've been dead a few seconds after Mufasa stared at him when the hyenas ran off! Mufasa is like, "Yeah, you might wanna get as far away from me as possible."

Hmm, gets crushed by a rhino, manages to find the cubs, and does his best to shield them from a pack of hyenas and almost cooked himself... I can see why Mufasa would be mad at poor Zazu...

Poor Zazu, he could do nothing against the hyenas. He could only get help.

Poor Zazu! He tried his best. It wasn't his fault that the entire animal kingdom ganged up on him. And when he did find them again he kept putting himself between the hyenas and the cubs, even though those efforts wouldn't have done much good.
But he wouldn't have told all that to Mufasa, I'm sure. And the King has a right to be upset. He WAS the babysitter after all.
This is a great picture and I would have liked to see this scene.
