Description
My last painting of Magnus and Blaster evolved into a group Autobot shot. My last Autobot group shot: fav.me/d63ke8lWhile this was a lot of fun, it turned into a bit of a wrestle with the tablet to get the background colours right with those of the bots.
I plan to do a Decpticons group shot next, so watch this space...

I've always liked the G1 designs the best! I like your wording - they have a simplistic shape but there is complexity in the details. I've drawn the Bayformers, but they're just not satisfying to draw. While the complexity is certainly a fun challenge, they just lack the soul for me. I guess it's because I grew up with the G1 toys, cartoon and movie, so it's got a special significance to me.

This is awesome! I’m not used to seeing Eject and Rewind without mouthplates, but I like the look. The bots you included are a good mix.

There are a mix of my favorite bots in here. I wanted to add Red Alert and Perceptor, but it was getting a bit crowded.
Since I'm a big fan of the Dreamwave comics, I am used to Eject and Rewind without mouthplates. I had to search up the toys and G1 cartoon to remind myself of them with the plates. It's funny how you get used to a certain look.

My pleasure! I never read far enough into the Dreamwave books, but I did appreciate their art style. Red Alert and Perceptor would’ve been sweet, but yeah...you were running out of real estate lol.

Dreanwave had some great ideas for their stories, but unfortunately the money issues, ghost artists and people not getting paid ruined all that good work. I love the DW style of art (obviously XD). I know a lot of people hate the 'in-house' style idea, but for me I like the consistency. There are definitely some amazing artists for IDW, and I also enjoy their comics too
