This will be a classic classroom example of
in-the-moment-shot
The contrast, vertical lines separating darkness and light
The textures of the pillars and the movement of the dog are all nicely set

and the perfectly mysterious silhouette (Intentional or unintentional on your part) opens up the image for interpretation

*puts on smart voice* Kind sir, everything in my photos is intentional *cough*

Glad you like it, thank you!

Hmm Then oh great weaver of intentional opaqueness for interpretation
Thau shalt be selected in the photography as art book if there be one in the future

and you are welcome
have a Great day (or night)

hey if you can check out this old book 'photography as art' first published in 1907
I checked your gallery and you seem to be following the art steps

Sadly, I can't find the book or even any review on the net, so I can't see much.

It's nice to hear that I'm following someone's art theory. Any chance for you to tell me what it says in two sentences?

I like the perspectives of the shot, all the vertical lines give it good direction, and the dog is super cute. The silhouette is almost perfect.

Good shot

This is a misterious photo, I could be starring at it hours. I love the lighting and the balance between the black and the white in the photo and the shadows that the construction makes .

This is great. I really like the lighting. Good choice of black and white. I don't know if it was intended that one can hardly see the face of the man but the dogs one, however this gives the photo a quite emotive atmosphere. It makes me think the man is lonely maybe and the dog is the only thing that keeps him going out because it looks full of energy.
I have a dog myself and without her I wouldn't leave the house at the moment since I have to prepare for my exams so I can really relate to this

Well, the truth is taht there was his wife going few steps behing him. It seemed that they are quite close

So sorry, but there is no THAT emotional story.

And yea, I was aiming for the man to be in shade and the dog to be in sunlight.

Thank you!

Alright. But that's art, isn't it? Everyone sees something else in a picture and interpretes it in a different way.
Whether emotional or not, it's a great shot You're welcome.

Indeed and I love the way you captured it. It's such a "quick" moment, specially with the dog running and all... You did it wonderfully!
