I've been doing stuff, sorry I haven't been posting much lately!
I've taken up some other hobbies and have been training like a crazy person!
So here's something I doodled in my photoshop class.

Parkour is incredibly manly. A manly agile sport for manly agile people. Alas, I fear I am only accidentally agile. It's physically impossible for me to will out any of my feline agility.

You can do it if you believe! >:U And if you train!
I need to get back into training. hnng.

Believing does not help >:c and nor does training for me. Then again I'm terrified of heights/falling/pain/sunlight so I guess it's good I don't do parkour.
How might one train for parkour? Does it look anything like the ninja-ing around of Assassin's Creed?

It looks like a dumbed-down version of asscreed ninja moves. When you're starting out, anyway (its super dumbed down then! ha). I'm not interested in learning parkour flips and tricks and all of that bullshit, I just want to learn the practical stuff, so I'm mostly focusing on strength and balance and shit.
Here's an awesome beginner's guide, if you'd like: [link]

Oh, well that's still pretty awesome. Mmm, I get 'cha. It seems like it'd be quite useful at times for getting around, really. Especially if you were doing it in a forested area; ie climbing trees 'n shit, like the guys in the video. On another note, you'd be boss at hide and seek. *mashes face against phone* and most of the guide got cut off because my phone is Starscream. It takes any small victories it can get.

Pfft! I still surf the web on the computer, just like in the good ol' days. /waves cane/
But ye, parkour is the shit. I highly recommend learning it. :'D

Lyk 0mg33 ur s3w b3h1nd. G3t w1th th3 21th c3ntury, n00b. *cough* Ow. I just felt some braincells die, and violently. But truthfully, I, too prefer the good ol' computer, especially for dA. It's just 2am and that thing is heavy and hot on my lap.
I'd take a stab at such an endeavor if my town hadn't been mentioned in a Beatles song. Nowhere laaaand. No structures upon which to climb, except prickly-ass plantythings.

Damn! D:> It's kind of hard to practice some of that stuff without things to climb on, yeah... But to start off, all you really need is a staircase!

Luckily, our property has some elm trees with one or two low-hanging branches. Oh? How might that help, if you'll forgive my ignorance?

Stairs! Ah, one of the first training exercizes is to see how many stairs you can jump up from a standing position!

Oh this sounds dangerously fun. I can probably manage about two. What does one wear for parkour?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jackarais In reply to Kaiju-popsicle [2013-06-29 00:10:42 +0000 UTC]

Good running shoes, a t-shirt, and pants that you won't trip on. The pants/shoes are the most important part, and the pants are especially necessary because you don't want to scrape your knees.

Alrighty. Let's see how this goes. *Goes and tries it* Huh. That wasn't scary at all. In fact....it was fun. Do you ever have problems with skidding to a stop before something you're about to jump? I've done that twice now.

Jackarais In reply to Kaiju-popsicle [2013-06-29 03:34:06 +0000 UTC]

Hell yes.
You just gotta get comfortable with yourself, that's all. When you're confident that you're strong enough and that you've practiced enough, you won't hesitate like that. :]

Just have to override the part of my brain that doesn't run full speed at stationary objects. There's just this mental tug-of-war, y'know? One part of me says "No! Stop! Don't do that!" the other part says "STFU I know what I'm doing."

It seems your brain only sees that you're running AS FAST AS POSSIBLE-AND OH GOD THAT GATE IS SOLID STOPSTOPSTOP-oh. We...we jumped it? It was that easy?
