Description
This is the second concept sketch for my Lion Fish Kaiju for 's kaijuverse.I drew the basic design at work, did some more work at home (while watching the Ultimate Fighter), reworked the head layout (it looked like Zilla too much). Then, I inked it, using extra-superfine, superfine, and fine technical pens
So, how did he come out? Expect a color version in a few days.

Yeah, but they aren't all that similar. Leoxic is a bit more a traditional kaiju, not the more new-school ones that you do (and no, I'm not saying that's a bad thing).

I like it. It's a pretty simple design, but it's really damn solid and interesting at the same time.
I think he'll fit in great in MM's roster.

I can see it working in MM's World. If we're keeping the "we come up with the origins" bit yet, I know his will involve Rudolph.
Can't really say what to add or not what to. He looks no more outlandish/lame than Taninim or Big Cattie.
And I'ma be having a flood of art go up this weekend, expect to see the first bits of mine for yours.

In all honesty Jake he seems alot like your generic therapod with fish spines. I think if you elongated the hands and feet into some real webbed digits and increased the size of the eyes it would help.

I was going for the therapod body design actually. he's not a part of the Monsturraverse, but something for MM's World.
I do admit maybe I could've put some more effort in his design, which I probably will.
And yes, I'm a bit crabby.

Oh I'd expect as much. I just looked at the term 'lionfish kaiju' and figured it was supposed to be suitably aquatic and fishy looking. MM probably won't mind but if it's gonna have fish traits then it might as well have some of the more iconic bits.
It works, don't get me wrong. I was aiming to push a little firmer into its niche but maybe its something like Titanosaurus and just superficially resembles a lion fish.

Well, me and MM are thinking of linking him to Dr. Rudolph Ackert, and making him the "rival" to Taninim, so the dino-fish concept makes more sense.
However, I'm thinking of doing one more concept design.

Well, I will probably try one more take. Just testing the waters with this guy.
Though, honestly, it's easier to try to draw a kaiju for another person's universe than your own.
