This looks really nice. Did you use split rings for the scales?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JadedDragonRI In reply to Drakonian13 [2008-04-30 22:41:52 +0000 UTC]

TY =o) No..I used regular rings..I rarely pay that close attention to instructions...hhhmm..maybe thats why I have such problems with weaves turning out right...hahahaha

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Drakonian13 In reply to JadedDragonRI [2008-05-01 01:31:55 +0000 UTC]

I have some regular rings and small scales I ordered that I want to make into a handflower for myself, but the last few times I've tried to start the project I get about four scales done and want to chuck them across the room. It's nice to know that it really can be done!

Mournblade [2008-04-28 18:59:08 +0000 UTC]

How does that feel against your skin? do the scales scratch at all? I know it's aluminum so it has to be pretty light, but is it comfortable?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JadedDragonRI In reply to Mournblade [2008-04-28 22:22:21 +0000 UTC]

It doesn't scratch at all...but then again..I've only tried it on for a few minutes at a time because I want to sell it...but yes..it is surprisingly comfortable...the edges of the scales are not sharp...I was playing with the idea of fixing the edge scales to make them stay put...but I kinda like the movement of it too...=o)

hawkthrower [2008-04-16 17:08:20 +0000 UTC]

Nice work. I've never used TRLs scales. Do they stay flat when your hand is down, or sort of puff out like an angry bird? That would be kinda cool.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JadedDragonRI In reply to hawkthrower [2008-04-16 19:05:04 +0000 UTC]

TY! =o) Yeah...they kinda puff out at the sides sometimes while the middle is stable...which is kinda neat...LOL But I am thinking about trying to put more rings in the back to see if I can stabilize the sides it a bit more...

Mournblade [2008-04-16 15:15:30 +0000 UTC]

Love the scales! How does it look when you have your hand down by your side?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JadedDragonRI In reply to Mournblade [2008-04-16 19:06:11 +0000 UTC]

TY! =o) The sides do come out a bit...working on stabilizing it a bit more....but I do love the look...thinking about keeping this one for myself LOL

Hi there...this wasn't difficult at all...I bought the scales from the ringlord...and they have a tutorial on the site that helps you put the scales together...was pretty easy actually. thanks for the comment =o)
