Found items seems a fair balance, especially so early when you don't have a lot of 'mon.
Also, boring backgrounds FTW! They give us the idea about where the story is taking place, but without taking away from the characters.

The pentagram was a style choice because I thought it looked cool. A lot of other people her age in her world would probably peg her as goth. She would not use the word to describe herself.
