Description But you'd rather be killed by something you enjoy, right?

Christened a new mini sketchbook with this - I wanted to try out my markers in it, but the paper is too absorbent and it goes all bleedy, t looks like I won't be using them in that book again Considering how unsuitable the paper was this came out better than expected but it's still not perfect, I need more practice!

I can't remember where but a few days ago I saw a drawing of a guy smoking and looking all cool and chill and for some reason it reminded me of Sifris, so smoking Sifris happened. It ended up not looking much like present-day Sifris, so this is a step back in time to his late teens/early twenties when he was in his bad-boy phase. Yes, Sifris had a bad-boy phase. Leather jackets, heavy-duty boots, smoking like a chimney, the lot. He was the King of Cool, and the Emperor of Smooth. Admittedly it was mainly an aesthetic - he got in a few fights, broke a few hearts, but never did anything bad enough to win him a negative reputation.

Obviously it's a thing of the past - he's now pushing 29, with a very prestigious foothold in one of the galaxy's most respected military organisations, several hundred officers directly under his command and an almost perfect service record. He gave up the whole bad-boy thing within the first few years of serving in the Special Forces - that was when he realised he wanted to get higher up the ladder and started to take life a lot more seriously. A few things remain - he's still an incredibly chill guy most of the time, still loves a good sturdy leather jacket and still smokes; only very occasionally though, he's 'given up' but will still have one in social situations or at the end of a particularly bad day when he needs to relax. He had to quite daytime smoking because Aean couldn't stand the way it made his office smell.

I've no idea why I don't give this guy more love, he's due a lot more credit than I give him <3

((I know you brought it up on Saturday when I bought the game, but he really DOES kinda look like Chrom from Fire Emblem: Awakening now that I think about it...))

Yaaaay, I finally know who mystery man is!
and the whole "bad boy turned military officer" thing makes me think of a Nicholas Sparks novel for some reason.

He really does :'D

And now you know why you didn't recognise him xD It's such a great transition, almost everyone who didn't know him back then is shocked when they find out about it for the first time, because now he's always so well-dressed and well-mannered.
He still wears his piercings sometimes though, I forgot about that.

Give him a conventionally attractive "not like other girls" love interest with a tragic past and you've got an internationally best selling contemporary romance novel.

Piercings? I didn't see that he was wearing earrings at first. o3o
And damn son, I know I might be a dorky fat girl who loves pastel colors and cute dresses and would be the last person on earth to date an actual bad boy type, a good looking scruffy guy with a leather jacket and some piercings is swoon material

(excuse any nonsensical sentences. I'm still on medicine that makes me loopy)

I'd definitely go for that if it wasn't so cliche and predictable

Yup, he had double piercings in each ear when he was younger but he let one set seal up so he's only got one pair of studs now. He doesn't wear them all the time though, only when he's on non-active duty.
I think anyone would go for a guy like that. Sif had the look but didn't really have the character - he was the 'lovable rogue' type of guy, a bit cocky and not afraid to toe the line but with a heart of gold. And he caused plenty of swooning in that battered old jacket of his, I can assure you

Initially I thought that Aean was supposed to be just that, but then the ten year age gap sunk in and I realized that it was legal but getting fairly close to creepy.

He meets a surprizing amount of "hnnng" criteria. Like seriously I bet he's got a small fanclub among the younger female officers.

It's not ten years, more like six to seven but that makes not much difference. Plus professionalism and all that

The only thing I disagree with in that statement is the word 'small'

Aean got aged up? Last time I remembered she was only 19! I feel old...

Oh dear.
But you've got to admit, you've set him up as fantasy material.

19 feels old? :'D
She was 19 when she was first introduced but has aged accordingly and is now 21-22 ish.

Most definitely, if you took away his carbon fibre armour and his laser sword he's make a perfect erstwhile knight, far too busy making friends with the princesses to actually rescue them

Augh, typos! that was meant to be I feel old

Er, well I meant more "hormone-induced teenage girl sexual fantasy" than "knights and magic and princesses fantasy" but okay :'D

I think he fits both pretty well. He's definitely very popular among the younger female officers (at least compared to the other commanders, he's the youngest by far and some are almost double his age) but for some reason he's never really taken advantage of that popularity.

So he's definitely a retired ladies' man, huh?

Not so much 'retired' ... he was never really a serious ladies man - yes he was popular and yes he'd wink and smile and tell the girls how pretty they looked but he was never a womaniser or anything. He knows that people find him attractive, but doesn't take advantage of that or flirt or anything, especially not in a professional setting.

I love the highlights on the hair It still looks very effective even if you didn't like the paper.

It was a lot more absorbent than I expected, so it went a bit feathery around the edges and I couldn't do really fine lines, but I managed to salvage most of the really messy bits I really enjoyed doing the hair, so I'm glad you like it!
