Description THERE'S AN EXPLANATION FOR THIS I PROMISE
It all started with the wonderful cheese17 drawing a picture of Seskey as a deer centaur, which can be found on her new art blog  - after seeing it I felt compelled to do my own version, and that is why shirtless centaur Seskey is now in your inbox, jumping over the symbol stone no Seskey you know that's not allowed you idiot

Cheese's original version used what looked like a fallow deer (think Bambi) but that didn't really seem to fit Seskey so I changed it to a kudu, which is a type of antelope native to parts of West Africa, because y'know, he's from the desert and all. I usually hate drawing animal anatomy but this went pleasantly smoothly :'D This is set back home as well, on the sands of Nessa where he grew up, as an excuse to throw in a few worldbuilding headcanons I've been hoarding (therefore all the stuff below is unofficial Jammy canon and should by no means be taken as gospel, just my ideas)

I drew his upper body slightly more exaggerated that usual (he is muscular in canon but not as much) and his hair is longer than usual too, braided in a traditional Nessite way (he gave up on doing this after moving to Kollin as it was too fiddly and time consuming). Those are just minor tweaks for the sake of this picture but other changes are permanent - his skin is now much darker, and I've slightly changed the shape of his face tattoos, just to make them slightly easier to draw.

The stones he's jumping over (and shouldn't be) are symbol stones, large smooth rocks with symbols carved into them that sit by village entrances, front doors and sacred places, to grant protection and other properties. People carves the symbols into the rocks and leave them as prayers to the spirits of the sand when they need help, guidance or a blessing - for example if your child was sick you might leave out a stone with a symbol for healing on it. They can also be given as gifts at special events like weddings and the birth of a baby. The symbols used here are Andinkra, symbols used in West African cultures, and from left to right are kae me (loyalty), wawa aba (perseverance/skill), odo nyera fie kwan (strength of love) and funntunmireku (strength in diversity). Even in the modern age these stones can be found all over Nessa, mainly in the desert regions, and particularly in the Talamh Desert, which is where Seskey is from (specifically a region called Talamh Dram)

Please feel free to ask me anything about my characters or the worlds they live in, I love talking about them and I love people taking an interest even more! <3

I love this *A* The colours all work really well together and the shading is amazing. I envy your skill with cel-shading hnnnggh D:

Great anatomy on both the deer and human parts too, and I like the addition of the symbols, it's great that you put a lot of research into your work :>

Aaah thank you! And thanks for coming to the stream as well c: I usually have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to shading, honestly - I just tend to make it up as I go along and probably break so many rules xD

I managed to find some really great references for both parts - usually a lot of my anatomy is guesswork but I didn't want to risk this looking awful xD
I love doing the research for this kind of thing, world-building is one of my favourite things to do and coming up with all the cultural stuff is always great fun - I have lots more where that came from!

SWEET JESUS SO MUCH HEADCANNON And now I finally know where he lives |D
Question though, are those goggles around his neck or is that a necklace?

There's a lot more stuff I could have included in the picture but I decided not to overload it xD
It's a stone necklace that's meant to resemble his goggles.
