Nyarlathotep Statuette- A small Shabti style figurine of the Crawling Chaos discovered by Bowen in the tomb of the Black Pharaoh, Nephren Ka. It is said to cause the owner to have visionary apocalyptic dreams.(Measures 6.75" x 2.5")

What's the medium? Looks like basalt, but I'm assuming clay of some kind. I love Shabti, probably because there are so many kinds. There's one of Ptah in lapis, and countless ones in that pale orange Nile clay with paint on them...if you can find it. My favorite thing about this piece is all the little imperfections. It has some marks on it that look particularly like trowel marks from an excavation. Beautifully done.
