this looks both solid and liquid - a great abstraction - the flow of the image and the cues like the surfer really keep that aspect alive against the surfaces .

I saw this one, your latest I guess, first. It´s really attractive. Just browsed through your gallery. Warm, subtile, balanced, natural. Breath of fresh air. It´s looks so... easy, but I know it´s not. Thanx for sharing it with the rest of the world.
You´re a source of inspiration to me and, no doubt, many many others.

you're welcome, another word I was searching for yesterday, I thought of this morning: tranquility. Does it make sense to you. It seems like it's a common factor throughout all your work. It brings calmness when watching the pieces.
You probably already know them but I was also influenced by the art of Jeffrey Jones, who, to my big surprise, had himself transformed (I'm not sure of the correct term here) into a woman after 50 years, being married and having a family allready. That must have taken some guts I guess.
Others I liked very much (I was in my teens when I discovered them) were Mouse and Kelly and Rick Griffin who were also totally into surfing and this lifestyle. For myself, I stepped on my sons skateboard once and after I got up again I could't run for three years so...
Nowadays I'm also more into old masters which I found rather boring when I was young. So much to learn there. Degas is a favourite as is Gustav Klimt, Paul Klee, and more recently, Anton pieck (who's illustrations are the architectural basis of the Netherlands most famous amusement park ; de Efteling) and MC Escher, the Hildebrandt brothers and Patrick Woodroffe. And there are of course many great others
Maybe you'll like also the music of the blue oyster cult. I know, it's ancient by now...
I can't wait to see your next creation, but I willl...Thanx for your nice reaction
Paul

Hey Paul
The masters works you list were and are still inspirations to me...Dali,Carravagio, Degas, Ingres...love all that...
Dont know Jones' work..I know Griffin's work now, but didnt know of it until a few years ago.
I appreciate the kind words and for sharing your passion of art with me
Jay
