I don't know what stressed me first, or how the pressure was fedBut I know just what it feels like, to have a voice in the back of my head
Like a face that I hold inside, a face that awakes when I close my eyes
A face that watches every time I lie
A face that laughs every time I fall
It watches everything.
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin

This is Mael.
Mael has many problems, but right now his personal demons are catching up with him.
This world is inside his head. He feels there's something evil inside him and he can't fight it anymore.
That's why he's tearing his face apart and the "infection" is spreading.
Mael is from my story Destiny, and both are © me.

Hello there~
This is a really interesting piece you have here. I'm unfamiliar with your art style so I can't judge on that. but what you have is very stylized and unique-looking. I am an absolute sucker for sketchy-looking artwork.
The background looks very nice, and is possibly one of my favourite parts of this piece. The shades of grey contrast very nicely with the character, and the way it softly fades from the hard, dark "trees" to the light fog in the very back, looks incredibly spooky and haunting. The character himself is at an odd angle, but it overall helps the piece out, because it adds to the twisted perspective of this piece.
I won't critique on anatomy because it seems as though you stylized this to look a certain way, and in truth I don't think realistic anatomy would have enhanced this piece--again, the sketchy style looks very nice and portrays the message well. The blood on the character does work, but it looks as if you used a brush to splatter it on because, well, where his legs are it looks as if the blood is flowing in a straight line. I think it looks fine on his shoulders, but because you tried to put blood splatters on the ground as well... gah, I'm not explaining myself very well. XD; Basically, you should try to angle the blood on the ground a little bit, so it looks more like it actually splattered on the ground as opposed to being just wiped on the camera.
And I can't really tell what's going on with his face. This may not be an issue depending on the look you were going for, but to me he's ripping off his flesh and beneath the flesh is some grey imp face. I don't know the character, so I can't call this as something "incorrect", but it may be helpful to specify in the future.

This is a fairly new style for me, and the way the whole thing looks isn't something i've done before.
What you said about the background is exactly what I was hoping for. It's also pretty much open to interpretation cause it wasn't part of my original plan, so I'm glad it works in contrast.
I also thought they look like trees and a forest is basically what I ended up going for, but they're not necessarily trees if one were to think otherwise.
As for the face i felt explaining it would take away from the effect so I left it open, to go along with the 'face under my skin' quote.
There's a long story to it involving mental breakdown, but his emotions are channeled into a physical form, which is some kind of demon creature.
Sort of Venom x Hulk. I call the creature form Maetreya.
It's not necessarily how the transformation occurs but it's meant to symbolise the feeling that this creature is who he really is on the inside, so he's tearing his human shell off.
I was also not sure about how the blood worked, it was supposed to be everywhere cause i figured tearing your face off would throw blood all around.
I started using a brush for the legs and ground, but the shoulder area was hand drawn, so i guess it didn't work.

Psychological horror is very much a driving force of the story but it's essentially about love.
The (new)Christ and Antichrist fall in love cause they don't know what eachother are, and how their relationship interferes with their conflicting destiny.

Awesome piece as it so good that the character is pleased.
The style to draw on computer is different and interesting.
the colours are good and the detail is simple but effective
the background is great relating to the name of the piece
and the shadows around are great.
