Some things about desert, for those that have not been:It's hot, but it gets equally, and most discomfortingly cold.
also, there's a ton of green in the desert. as there is brown, yellow, purple, green, blue... it's quite a colorful place if you look...

that is such a stunning capture, the shy is perfectly gradiented, i love that, and how you have placed the subject matter in the lower quarter of the photograph, very effect.
