Description
Final Project for Senior Studio, an exploration of how we consciously or subconsciously associate sin with femininity, demonizing women in the process. The seven deadly sins as various mythological monsters (however I purposefully removed all the fantastical bits because, in fact she is just a woman, not something to be feared).
The Banshee, omen of impending death.

Hmmm.... I love the picture.
I'm not sure how well the Banshee fits with wrath, they were mourning spirits, not vengeful ones.

I REALLY like the concept behind this series, especially the choice of not showing the mythological parts. Very interesting and extremely well-executed

I saw all seven. But I chose this one as my favorite (hard to choose). The concept of the Seven Deadly Sins is something that I've been wanting to explore for some time now, but I haven't gotten around to it. The idea of tying mythology to this concept is unique as well, giving the viewer a vision of women we rarely see and teaching us a little bit about the mythology behind the women you've chosen. I would consider the entire project a success.

Yayness! I always liked the Banshee for some reason; she's just a cool spirit to fear. I also heard that if you could make her laugh, she would turn into an angel. As there aren't too many "sightings" of them that I heard of now a days, I guess a lot of people have been successful over the years. Anyways, wonderful job - I love the colors and her hair!
