Writing something in caps doesn't make it correct. The Nintendo of my country officially named them cats. And even in America they are called beasts, not dogs.

Entei is based off large dogs i.e. Mastiffs, though it is also based off an ancient lion spirit so we're technically both wrong and right

I see where you are coming from, but Entei resembles the Disney's Beast than a cat/lion for me. And Suicune certainly doesnt resemble a cat, only some Qilin-based creature. Not to mention the theories that claim they are reincarnated elementary-type eeveelutions that are canines...you know it is rather subjective. I think 'beasts' is the safest definition,

actually, eevee is not a canine. we know alot of pokemon are combinations of different animals, eevee, has a fox tail, cat head, chubby dog legs, and bunny ears.

so its not a canine/dog, it's a Cat-Fox-Bunny-Dog

However a beast is still not "dog-moltres". And for me they will allways be cats, a lion, a tiger and a cheetah to be exact, because that's what they are called in Germany
