Description Yeah! I like how it came out. This is the strongest and most powerful sword that is known in the RTF, some sort of a god-like weapon, forged by the administrator, able to steal the soul of everyone who touches him.

---Edited further description:
The Soulreaver. Created by the administrator, he is probably the most powerful weapon ever created (In the universes that are controlled by the R.T.F.). He is an artifact of dark magic and able to suck out the souls of his victims by even the slightest touch.  The sword possesses a certain degree of awareness or consciousness, not enough to think like a human, but act closely to the instincts of an animal. Thus he developed a certain recalcitrance against any person trying to wield him, provided that this person is ever accepted in the first place.
There are very few people who are able to handle the Soulreaver without being killed upon touchin it, and even those experience a feeling of weakness and powerlessness, if Soulreaver allows them to swing him. Even if you do not touch the sword, his corrupting influence can be felt in proximity. He is able to shift the spectrum of visible light so that everything is just visible in black and red. The only way to gain his respect and becoming immune to his influence is to have sucked the soul of another being or killed it with other magic-withdrawing skills. But even in the latter cases there is the risk that Soulreaver still kills his wielder on a whim. The only person he submits himself and really obeys is the administrator.
The Soulreaver is also able to perform various other magical attacks, including ranged attacks. It cuts without exception any material as if it was air and can destroy, with a few exceptions, every magical weapon. Even blades which can resist him through their magic, won't last long before the soulreaver deconstructs, destroys or simply steals their protective spell. There isn't any form of energy Soulreaver cannot absorb and store in his body. Moreover, his capacity is unlimited.
The most devastating attack of this weapon is it's ability to destroy whole universes. The blade vanishes into a rift of reality and begins to corrupt natures laws. The universe will then break apart, along with everything in it, even "gods", provided there are any. This, of course, refers to "gods" who are not allmighty in a way that they have power over all the universes, such as it is presumed about the christian god.
The Soulreaver can also dish out as much as take in, because he is immune against any known firearm or destructive action, for the reason that he absorbs the energy of each impact and converts it in energy he can use. There is only one way the Soulreaver can be destroyed at all. The soul crystal in the socket behind the handle has an equivalent counterpart in the sword Runeblade, who is his sister.
If her rune stone is put in the place of the soul crystal, the Soulreaver will be destroyed. The same also works vice versa.
While it is possible to make copies of most magic weapons by redoing the necessary steps to forge the first sword, the Soulreaver's spell prevents the making of copies as a side effect to it's power. However, the Soulreaver is in no way the first weapon of it's kind. Today it "lives" in it's sixth generation of the siblings sword pair. The administrator destroyed the earlier versions of the weapon every time after he knew how he could create them filled with even more dark magic Power. This fact is, however, known to very few. The first and second generation were designed as short-swords, third and fourth as long swords, and the fifth was even a sword with two blades.

This is like an epic fusion between the Soul Reaver from the Legacy of Kain series and The Sword of Aeons from Fable: The Lost Chapters.

Nice work, I really love the colour scheme and the attention to detail!

Thank you.
Yes, I had heard of the legacy of Kain many years ago, probably when it's graphics were top-notch, and that was before I thought of this one. Much more influence came from Drakan, Order of the Flame, though (Awesome dragon flying game).

No problem and yeah, it's been a while since I touched a LoK game.

May need to change that!

Is it at all influenced by Runesword Stormbringer? The sword used by Elric in a spate of Michael Moorcock novels? It's a really interesting design. I'm a massive fan of dark, evil swords anyway.

I'm sorry, you missed.
I'm hearing about that for the first time. There is no connection. But if you want to know, it is in fact influenced by the game "Drakan - Order of the Flame", which has swords like this one: scatha-the-worm.deviantart.com…

Your comment also brought me to have a look at my german-to-english translation in the description. God, what a mess.
Thanks for letting me know what you think!

In my response to you, where I mentioned the video game of this same name, I didn't mean it in any malicious way. The physical design of this sword is actually pretty interesting.

Thanks, it is my sixth concept of this sword.
I heard of the game in the past, at least five years ago, and a friend showed me a walkthrough-book of that game. I found it really interesting, but I don't know much about it and I'm too lazy to get it. In fact I think the name of my sword is inspired by the game. But it was not long ago when I first looked up what it means in German, and it's different from "Seelenräuber" what would be Soul-robber. But that didn't sound nice to me.

was steht auf dem Schwert?

Joachim-Berger In reply to Borschtel [2010-09-12 15:37:10 +0000 UTC]

Schwierige Sache.
