Long time no speak!Forgive my absence. Blame life, work and all the glittering jewels of social media.
I'll try and update things here a bit.
Anyway back to DMC! The first digital painting I posted here some 10 years ago
was a Dante fanart. Feels right to post this here. Really enjoyed Devil May cry 5 and sweet dark lord have mercy,
did I fall in love with V.

V was an unexpected gem playing DMC5. So extra, goth, and surprisingly sassy. I thought it was amusing his way of recharging was reading as the battle went on

Actually, it's pretty interesting that you said Goth. I also commented that he seemed very Gothic to my bro when he showed me the game a day or two ago.
Yeah, characters like these make me proud to be a Goth.

Hahaha, my brother told me I was gonna love V. He was absolutely correct!
I loved his familiars as well. Griffin was like Deadpool in a bird's body haha, and the panther was super cool too.
I think that the game in general had such an amazing plot. I can't think of any characters in it that I didn't like, and a lot of loose ends got tied. Now I'm head-over-heels into Devil May Cry again.
I mean seriously, going over to my brother's house and watching him play the game was like reading a good book or watching an awesome movie. The suspense was intense!

I also agree with you about the cast, V and Nico (who by the way is equally AMAZING!) felt really at home.
It's rekindled my love of the franchise too! Reminded me of what it is I actually love about video games. Heavy
character driven plots and linearity are not a bad thing. It's so nice to return to something like this, something really, really video gamey.
You can feel and see the love it was crafted with throughout the whole experience. It looks fucking gorgeous, it plays like a dream, the story is
delightfully over the top with loads of nods to it's own history. It feels like a complete, polished and refined product. I could gush all day about it.
I'm so, so glad it's sold well. Games like this deserve love and support!

Yes! I also really loved Nico! Her attitude and sass was super funny. I couldn't imagine a better friend for Nero than her.
Speaking of Nero, I really think that they improved his character a lot as well. I wasn't as big a fan of DMC 4 as I was for the 1st and 3rd games for some reason, and I think it was because in some ways I felt that Nero needed more development or something. Like the game itself felt incomplete for some reason.
I didn't absolutely hate the game, but I just walked away from it feeling kind of "meh."
And plus, I felt as though there wasn't quite enough of the original characters in 4 - whereas THIS work of absolute art was incredibly gifted in providing all the characters with enough screentime.
It just feels so good to know that good content is still being created!
Also fun fact, Vergil in particular has always been one of my favorite characters, and coincidentally my brother's as well!
He actually cosplayed him many times at our local anime conventions (and it works because my brother actually kind of looks like him when he's mad xD), AND met his sweetheart girlfriend at one when she was also dressed up as Vergil, who she actually had a crush on herself. They've been together for literal years now!
So in a way, Vergil has brought my family many good things. ^_^
I absolutely agree, this is the way video games should be! Good gameplay, good characters, good plot, BEAUTIFUL graphics, and all that it is!
100/10 game, I need it in my life forever.
