If only I had a grain of your talent. I would love to see your process.

Are you kidding, Shannon? Your stuff is incredible. My process is pretty elementary. Thumbnails, page layouts, super light stickform, and straight to inks. Each page takes between 3 and 5 hours, and I aim for 2pages a day. God willing....

You are too kind, bro. I wish I could find an editor who felt the same way about my art.

Two inked pages a day is an AMAZING feat considering the quality/ energy that you put into your pages. I can pencil 2-4 pages in a 12 hour day but I'm way slow with the inks.

I'm very interested in your "elementary process" because getting the essence of a scene is more important than worrying about drawing every cigarette butt on the floor. You are so good at it and make it look easy.

Thanks, Shameous. I've studied a lot of film and framing, lensework, in addition to working in and around film for a while. Here's a quick tip: Download an original screenplay from your favorite movie, take individual scenes and break them down in shots (with angles, pans, etc..) Watch the movie, and with script in hand, log the number of shots and type (with drawings or photos) of your favorite scene. It's how I learned to storyboard.

I'm slowly getting the hang of it, Shin. Funny, I now estimate I've inked over 320 of my own storytelling pages thus far, and I'm still discovering and updating the process as I go along. Happy New Year, bro!

Fantastic pages Joh, dynamic and energetic... this would make the series a re-read alone for me! You really take your storyboard skills from your movie experience into these pages
