Jude Law is an English actor who was born in 1972 in London, England. He started his acting career in 1987 with the National Youth Music Theatre and made his film debut in 1989 with The Tailor of Gloucester. He gained recognition for his role in Anthony Minghella’s The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), for which he won a BAFTA Award and was nominated for an Oscar. He received another Oscar nomination for his role in Cold Mountain (2003), along with two Golden Globe nominations for his roles in The Aviator (2004) and Closer (2004). He has also starred in films such as A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), Road to Perdition (2002), Sherlock Holmes (2009), Hugo (2011), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018). He played a younger version of Albus Dumbledore in the latter and will reprise the role in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022). He is also known for his TV roles in The Young Pope (2016) and The New Pope (2020)123 Jude Law has been married twice to actresses Sadie Frost and Phillipa Coan.
