Description "Hey, they look like Slenderman!"
"Are these inspired by the Endermen?"

That....OK, that irks me a bit. Not for any rational reason. Most weren't to know: I've been drawing my "Freakshow" pictures since 2001/2. Well before Slenderman showed up, and before me, other (better) artists were doing similar stuff. Look at the work of Edward Gorey and Charles Addams, whose art heavily inspired my "darker" pictures.

Holy sheit... Thanks for introducing me to Edward Gorey! I'm surprised I hadn't learned about him sooner. I think I have a good supply of inspiration for the next month or so. By the way... "I will not set fire to my fellow students..." That made me laugh. You have earned a new watcher.

The first one was a vacuum-cleaner and the gumball one was just about unfairness?

Yep. The Denizens were around long before SA was even planned.

Were they around long before you were born? Are they hiding in the shadows, waiting to conquer us all...?

I don't see any reason to argue over the who first had the idea to draw a character like that, because they're so simplistic in style that there's hardly any point. I've also seen plenty of macabre drawings... But, these were pretty entertaining so thank you.

Edward Gorey scared the living piss out of me as a child.  So much creepy nightmare fuel.  Those were the worst.  Not the ones where something bad happened, the CREEPY ones where it was all so very normal, and yet completely terrifying at the same time.

Love these. I can really spot the Addams vibes, given I was such a fan of the one or two compilations I had of his work.

I just love the droll morbidity of it.

Heh.

I was commenting to myself how much like Gorey these looked. I had never drawn a similarity to Enderman or Slenderman till you mentioned it now.

It also has a similarity to some of Burton's work. Though that should not be surprising as he was influenced strongly by Gorey too.

Great stuff. I like these the best out of your work.

I freakin' love creepy coupled with humorous and all that black comedy jazz. The "happy halloween" one with the ghost and the drill brought Pictures For Sad Children to mind (one of my favorites by John Campbell). I would totally buy Vintage Freakshow tshirts Sharp blacks and white accents screen printed on off-white tees, maybe? My wallet would surrender itself unto thee, good sir, haha.

Nice work! It took me a while to find the "problem" in the nursery scene... I knew something had to be 'wrong', but I couldn't find it for the longest time... then it jumped up and hit me right between the eyes...

... gotta love Gorey and Addams, good to know a few more of your inspirations.

Wow, these are really great. I love looking at dated digital art because many artists used the limited tools they had before them and still made some psychological, dark and surreal pieces. This was a great strip and I enjoyed grazing past your works.
