Acrylic, 24in.x36in. COPYRIGHT 2009

Hello everyone Here is my latest painting. I came up with this sketch a while ago. Inspired by a photo of my girlfriend standing in a field. Wanted to add my take to it and hopefully make a pleasant scene for everyone to enjoy. Not really sure what to say...most of my work is quite instinctual, I paint from the soul. Of course it helps when my beautiful girlfriend inspires me so. I just hope you find the colors and scene to be calming and relaxing, that it fills you with warmth. I tried a little different color scheme and I think it works. As always I try to take a picture of my painting that is close to the original as possible but I never quite succeed. Colors are always a little off, not much though. I think I need better equipment Hopefully my painting tells you a story or gives you some sort of feeling when viewing it. Please enjoy, on to the next one. Take care and God Bless

This is so beautiful! I love the composition, perspective, and the vivid colors! I know it's done in acrylic, but it kinda looks like colored pencil too! c: But very lovely work!

Thank you so much! It could be because of the camera that it looks like pencil or pastel, I've noticed that in some of the other paintings as well. In person they don't have that look

You are very welcome! And yeah, I bet! Usually paintings and other traditional work look different in person than how they look in photographs.

Thank you Nice gallery you have there. I only see one painting the rest are drawings right? Abstract isn't my genre so I don't know much on how to critique them, but from what I can see you did a good job on your color choices, makes your composition come together. Just keep on doing what you enjoy doing, the more you create the better you get at doing it. Always have fun and don't worry about mistakes because that is how you learn. Take care and God Bless!

Your welcome. Yes I have two acrylic painting's Secret Garden and Heart On Fire. I am currently working on a painting of mermaid under the ocean. I am trying to figure out how to make her look like a real women. Not just a cartoon one it is quite challenging.
If you have any tips I would greatly apricate it. As your women look very life like and you scenery beautiful.

Finding a photo reference to go by will help a lot. If you don't know enough as an artist to just go from your imagination then you need to find help elsewhere. Either you find a photo that matches figure you are painting or find someone to pose for you. You also could just find a totally new picture of someone that fits your composition and start your figure over. The point is that you need to go by real life examples if you want it to look more real. Lighting is really the biggest thing to making them look real, as well as proper proportions. Good luck, hope that helps some. Take care and God Bless!

Gorgeous, and the details are very beautiful for a traditional painting (I thought it was digital at first since it is somewhat easier to do those with a great amount of detail, what with the undo key and small brushes people can do and auto-colour correction ) It is a lovely inspired piece from the soul, I really admire the autumn feel of the colours yet the late summer warmth that radiates from the girl. Also I like the free flowing landscape, it is interesting and relaxing to look at. Keep up the good work and God bless you too.
