Description As haunting and ancient as this house may be, the memories left in time tell of a more lingering thought.

________________

This photo was taken somewhere in the back roads of Kentucky. My dad who is 59 had admired this old house ever since he was a small child, about 10 or 11 I guess. Back then it was in the same condition as it is now. Recently my parents bought some land and a trailer off of my aunt because they wanted to own a second piece of property and on the way there I seen this house. I admired this house and didn’t even know my dad has admired this house as well. My dad told told me about how he loved that old house as a kid, and would love for me to get a photo of it, so I agreed of course. We headed to the homeowners house that owned this old house and asked them if I could get a few shots and they agreed. We got to see the old house up close and personal. What a magnificent sight. It was an absolute joy to be able to get shots of this house up close.

I would love to see just a standard photo of this place. HDR and editing is great but sometimes all you need is a cloudy backdrop and a little editing to make it just as beautiful.

I will be going back this fall and winter. ^^ I quit doing HDR late last year.

Awesome! I love a good HDR once in a while, but some of the photographers here overuse it and don't do it very well, either. I used to watch one guy that did nothing but overexposed HDRs and touted his stuff like it was God's gift to man, lol.

I do as well. ^^ I feel as if my HDR's were overdone and well, just grew out of doing it. I may do multiple exposures in the future for night landscapes. They will not be over processed though. haha

HDR is a pretty difficult procedure and I know a lot of people have a hard time getting it just right. Night shots aren't as bad, though, and it does wonders for bringing up the light and dark contrast in those scenes!

Haha I love this old place. I would love to own it as well. I just hope the owners never tare it down. I would imagine the owners who own it now are descendants of who originally owned it.

What would you do with it if you owned it?

JonUriah In reply to Tusenskona [2012-04-16 15:00:16 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't do anything with it. Maybe keep the yard trimmed a bit, about how it is now.
