Mass Effect pencil sketch.Okay, this is something I've been wondering ever since I started playing the game. Does the Asari's tentacle/hair act like normal hair, or can they move it. Also can they let it down. Since all the hair in the game is static I'm assuming that was the reason why they all have the same "hair" style. Now if you can get past the long brain stems of a Twi'lek, then a head full of tentacles shouldn't be any problem.

They aren't actually tentacles, in Mass Effect 3, there is a chance you can walk into Liara's cabin, and she is having an argument over it with Joker. He keeps pestering her and Shepard can either take Joker's side, saying he won't give up until told, or Liara's, saying to Joker that she is too busy to explain. If you take Joker's side, she doesn't explain though I don't remember all of it, but I do remember her saying that they don't "move around".

If i remeber they are a combination of muscle tissue and with cartilidge ridges near the rear of the head. As far as i can tell from both the games, books and comics they are static

Four of the arches (or tentacles) arch upward on the back. Leading me to believe they are static. Which makes me think of them more as a crest, rather then tentacles. That's just what I think. I also think their head dress is similar to the Turian's. Which I'm pretty certain is solid.
Anyway, interesting idea. But I don't know if I'd be too pleased if they did in fact flow like tentacles. I like their current pose too much.

Yeah, Mass Effect is an amazing game, and its sounds creepy, but Asari are hot, different species or no... But still gotta stick with the local female humans LOL! Yeah Can't wait to see what happens in the second game... COME OUT NOW!!! And where is Knights of the Old Republic 3?

I think I read somewhere that it wasn't really her hair, and was just a headdress.....I dunno.

It's definitely not hair, but I'm pretty certain it is a part of their anatomy. It just hasn't been explained what they are yet. So until then I'm sticking with my tentacle theory

That maybe. There wasn't any information in the codex I could find about what they have on their head. But to me they look like tentacles
