Kabuki's cutecute character Pyralis, summoning a phoenix. This was drawn a long time ago. I still sorta like this picture though.... I think it's the background. ^__^Related content

Something that really pops out at me is the way her face is done. All that lovely contrast! Both in the colouring, and the very distinct linework.
If you could bring that much gorgeous contrast into the rest of the piece, I think the whole thing would flow much better. (Don't get me wrong-- as it is, I do really love the dreamy quality!)

Is this one of the pics for the MAG of... of... some time back in year 2000 or so? This character and the drawing itself sort of remind me of something...
Ah well. I like the overall tint of this picture a lot, the way it is used as a sort of monochromy, almost... she looks very cute, a little seducing also (that being because of her lips, I think), and stands very neatly against the more blurred background. I guess the sparklies give an even more 'faery-like' feeling to it
