Description
Name: Hada
Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Height: 30 inches (~76.2cm)
Weight: 103 lbs (~46.7kg)
Appearance: Though not the best suited for blending into the greenery of forests, Hada's golden coat does him well against the elements. With strong guards hairs in various sunny browns, and a dense cream undercoat, he can handle most weather with ease. His coat radiates warmth in all the colours, though majority of his underside is nearly ivory. Even his darkest marking on his ear rims, streaked across his back, and coating just the tip of his thin tail, is only a pale dark brown. That same brown lines just below each eye, of which both are a pale jade colour, with the left featuring golden sectoral heterochromia in the upper portion. One of his key traits include his wide, webbed paws, powerful against currents and nimble upon thick blankets of snow. Usually seen walking with his head and tail lowered, this timid wolf has a coat that will stand out against the trees, whether he likes it or not.
Scent: Dried twigs and maple bark. In spring and summer his coat gains a bitter dandelion scent due to his tendency to roll in them.
Pack: Anam
Rank: Delta
Task: Gatherer
Personality:
[INFP ] Hada is more than just a shy wolf, in that he suffers from selective mutism and social anxiety. As a result, he is rarely one to speak, instead preferring exaggerated body language and use of props to communicate. His usual props consist of twigs and pebbles that he can often be seen carrying around or stashing in little burrows for later use.
To hear his voice in more than just a whisper is granted only to those who manage to gain his full trust. He will still be heard making noises such as submissive whines, but even then he rarely gets very loud. Even his howl is a rare sound, for he only howls if others are around to drown out his soft song in their own, more powerful, voices.
Being such a quiet and anxious wolf, he finds great stress in unfamiliar and/or intimidating situations, and may experience anxiety attacks. Such attacks consist of hyperventilation, tremors, submissive posture, and/or rapid heart rate. He usually is able to completely calm himself down if he can step away from the cause of the anxiety, though it may take extra time if he is unable to go to a place he feels safer. Very rarely will it get bad enough for a full attack, and he will just experience fleeting symptoms that he has learned to manage on his own.
He finds joys in various little things in life. Whether its the movement of the ants, a spider spinning a new web, the way the dew drops slide down blades of grass, he becomes easily fixated. He makes a goal to observe at least one thing a day that most may overlook. Even within a pack, he will spend a lot of time just watching other wolves go about their days or enjoying small talk together. He simply loves to observe other beings.
He is fairly optimistic; he is always trying to brighten up those he is comfortable with, whether it's with his newest collection of pebbles, or with his amplified gestures. If it is a companion he has grown to trust enough, he may go as far as murmuring simple words of encouragement, or even lame jokes.
Hada naturally finds comfort in the presence of a strong leader, as he can become lost without clear direction of who to look to. If such a leader is non-existent in his life, he would be more likely to behave more fearful and withdrawn. He is farthest from a natural-born leader, but it's not something that bothers him. He would much rather stand behind the higher ranks as support than be up on the front line making decisions.

Pre-Group History/Backstory
In another land, one he may never remember, he had once belonged to a small pack of his own. Born to a beautiful white wolf known as Hanill, and accompanied by two other siblings, Nuren and Vius. The three had been close with both each other, and their mother, and felt safest all curled up against her soft warm pelt. She was a beacon of comfort and unending love.
Hada's father Ketil, a scrawny and frail wolf, was stress prone. If any wolf saw him on his own, they’d never think he was one of the pack leaders. It was with Hanill by his side that all anxieties melted away, and the two led in harmony.
A lot of importance in their pack culture was ceremonial howling, exchanging stories, and other vocal activities to promote bonding. He had been born a happy, healthy pup, but never seemed to be interested in learning to speak or howl. While his siblings learned the ways of language, Hada never seemed to pick it up. He took on strange tricks and body language when he wanted something, much to the eventual annoyance of his siblings.
He was unable to take part in their vocal pack traditions, and eventually he was told to not bother attending if he had nothing to share.
As he grew, he was distanced by his siblings and pack. The use of one's voice was so crucial in their lives, and without his part in it, he became an outsider within his own pack. He tried his hardest to remain positive, but soon enough it was only his mother who remained by his side.
Hada took on the role of omega before his first full year. Though never with pure malice, his sister Nuren took advantage of his lower status the most.
She had been the biggest of the siblings, and had gone to Hada to practice her training; despite the fact he couldn’t have said no, he enthusiastically agreed to help his sister. However, Nuren was much more powerful than her brother, and every session ended in Hada’s injury. At first, she was horrified and guilty, but Hada always responded with a wolfish grin and encouraging nod that he was okay. Whenever she trained with others, they would tell her when they’d had enough, but with Hada, he never said a word. Each time Hada received more injuries, but never had he blamed Nuren, too afraid of dampening her spirit. He’d head back to the den site limping almost every day, to the point where the rest of the pack had grown used to it and dismissed it as him being a weak omega, despite their worries. Even through all the training sessions with his sister, he never denied her, determined to help her reach her goal of being the strongest in the pack.
Reaching his first year of age, Hada had started to practice speech on his own. He hid away to a private patch of dandelions and murmured words and sentences over and over. He discovered his own weak voice. Unable to stop comparing it to the smooth and powerful voices of his family, he decided that he would not show his new discovery of speech until he’d had enough practice. Maybe then, he had hoped, he could rise from his omega role and become one with his pack.
Months of practice, and he finally felt ready.
Waiting for one of the ceremonial nights, he headed out to join for the first time since pup hood. Immediately he could feel his heart racing, his limbs quivering. Panic set in as the eyes of his family turned to him, their gazes burning deep into his fur and making his stomach turn. When he had opened his mouth to say his first words in front of others, he immediately hunched over and began to vomit from the sheer stress. The disgusted growls and mocking laughter struck right into his heart, and that night he fled to the river.
Hanill tried to follow him, but the sight of his mother with such troubled look only caused the anxiety to resurface, and he knew he had to be alone to calm down.
He never swam much before, only in still ponds, but as soon as his paws dipped beneath the surface of the moving water, he felt his first surge of confidence. He swam across with only few struggles, then stood on the other side gazing back to look for his mother.
Hada hadn’t even seen her jump in, only saw her struggling against the waters, desperate to get to her distressed pup, yelling out to him.
Without warning, a sudden large rush of water came down, and Hada remembered why he had never gone in this river. Upstream had been a wavering beaver dam, always in danger of collapsing. Under the moonlight, something shifted, and it all came crashing down in violent waves and currents, pulling Hanill out of sight.
He searched for her body until sunrise, finally discovering her among some rocks downstream. He had pulled her onto land, seen her beautiful white fur turn red, gazed into her dying eyes.
Alone with his mother, he finally managed to say his first words, “ma, I love you”.
He watched her pass, unable to comprehend the loss he had just endured. His loss, the packs loss, his siblings loss.
He had carried her body back, and when confronted with the distraught screams of his family, the questions of what had happened, he could only sit in silence as he always had.
Without her there to lead alongside Ketil, the pack fell apart. Former order began to crumble, and before long it was an ‘everyone for themselves’ ruling. Ketil, at a loss without his queen, had turned cold and cruel, standing by and even encouraging violent acts between family members. Everyone had changed for the worse. If they were not fighting for food, a den, even a bone, then they were gossiping about the omega who brought his mothers dead body back. Though never spoken outright, they all silently believed Hada had been at fault for Hanills death. Yet no one blamed him more than himself.
...
The day of his accident was warm. He laid by the river, stared out with empty eyes where his mother stood moments before submerging into the rapids. The last wolf to ever have faith in him, to continuously show him love despite his silence, was gone. Even the bond he had slowly began building with his sister had dissipated. Nuren hadn’t come to him for training since the death, and instead took any chance to take her anger out on him if he got in her way. She followed in their fathers paw prints, turning to cruelty and violence, more so than the rest of the dysfunctional pack.
As he lay there watching his mother drown over and over in his mind's eye, he could hear the demanding howl of his father calling the pack together at the den site. Reluctantly, he went to journey back.
Along his way, he heard pack mates talking nearby. Immediately struck with fear and anxiety, he changed his route in attempt to avoid the unwanted contact just a little longer.
Up a steep forested hill he climbed, knowing there was a path at the top that led back home. It was not an easy thing to do, with various roots tangled beneath his paws, and sections of dirt falling loose with the slightest touch. Eventually, a fallen branch snapped beneath him and his front leg lodged between two roots. The rapid motion of falling from the branch dislodged the dirt under the rest of his body, and he had no way to stop it. He was thrown backwards, his leg snapping free, body hitting against trees and stumps, tangling in ivy vines before landing in a heap of twigs at the bottom of the hill. In a pile of sharp sticks, thorns, greenery and blood, he was stuck. He could hear pack mates in the distance, but as much as he tried, he could not cry out for help.
And no one came to look for him. Slowly, day by day, each more painful than the last, Hada had started wasting away. His wounds infected, leg broken, and body battered, he laid his head down in defeat. As the rains moved in, he took his last breath, smiling softly at the sight of a single dandelion sprouting through the twigs.

Waking up in the unfamiliar field, with nothing but memory of a name he felt was his, all he knew was immediate dread. Unfamiliar wolves surrounded him, and for reasons forgotten to him, his entire body began to betray him. His heart raced, his mind whirled, he could feel his stomach churning in warning. Get out of here. Danger! Everything in his being yelled at him to submit or flee. He didn't know why. They all looked just as confused and afraid as him. Within seconds he was rolled on his back, hyperventilating and writhing around pathetically, the whites of his eyes showing the terror he felt in his chest. He couldn't get out any words. He wasn't sure he even knew how, or what it would do to help this situation.
The fellow panicked wolves only worsened his condition, and he receded to the furthest corner from the others in attempt to calm. He wanted to flee far away, but a little voice in the back of his mind whispered to him. Told him to stay nearby. To wait and see. He didn't understand why he listened... He just did.
The sudden calm voice drowns out the panic and is the only thing that draws Hada's attention away from his own internal struggles. He sees a wolf is speaking, and immediately he is greeted with a sense of relief. Something in his subconscious grants the feeling of ease. In a trance like state, he moves closer to the group, eyes focused on the other male, observing the gentle commanding presence he held. He spoke of finding shelter, food water... Of sticking together.
At first Hada felt that sharp prick in his throat threatening to overwhelm him with fear, but with the new found purpose, he is able to push it down.
Never a word left his jaws as he traveled with his new companions. He remained timid and distant, frequently finding hidden spots as the anxiety tried to suffocate him. Each day became a little easier. Each day he had less and less panic attacks. Gradually he began to learn names from listening in. One name was of most importance to him. Graeson . Their new alpha.
By the time they reached their new home, his loyalty to their new alpha, to the new formed pack, was set in stone. It was then, finally, that he let a hoarse whisper escape, his accent thick.
"Hada..." He rasped, keeping his head lowered respectfully at Graeson's feet. Ever so slightly looking up, he felt a tugging at his maw, a soothing warmth in his chest. The first of many smiles to come.
