So yeah! My first catch was a Rattata! Huge twist there... and then I lost her almost right away... oh well. A rat for a mouse. Seems fair?
I almost chocked to my hot cocoa when that pikachu appeared 'D
And she kicks arse<3
Viridian forest wasn't much of a challenge. I did quite a lot grinding there before I entered Pewter city so Ramune evolved quite quickly.
I think he hates viridian forest by now...
I tought that the gym would be even a little of a challenge since I only had Ramune who was able to kick some rockbutt with metal claw but he pretty much made Brock's geodude and onix his bitches.
..... yeah I guess that's all.....

It's really sad Tara didn't last long, but at the very least it introduces your critically injured over death mechanic.
I love that your Gary doesn't say smell you later. That always kinda bothered me. Deal with it!! The censor on Gary's finger is definitely necessary.
I always hated training up charmeleon up for MetalClaw.
I prefer Mankeys. But Ramune is such a cutie. Dat smoky smirk.

I actually wanted to use one. Just like in my platinumlocke (dunno if gonna make a comic out of that or not, we'll see) I wanted to use a bidoof. I think they're adorable! Those button eyes and fluffy/chubby cheeks!
But yeah, I couldn't really bare to see Tara go so quickly so I decided just to box her forever.... and later move her in mah palpark to my silver >D
I think I made the rival say that in some points, but at least he doesn't say it all the time I think?
And of course random black blocks of censorship are a must .D
I would've loved a monkey too but then I caught a spearow. Not that I complained about that. Had something to trade off then >3>

I like the way Bidoof looks but I have trouble battling with them, at least in the beginning.
They just learn moves so slowly!
It's great that Tara got a happy purpose. Johto's a fun region, and she can go visit her home route still!
I just don't like Gary, I love to hate him. And Nuzlockes with basic Gary versus a unique character makes it seem like Gary has like 20 rivals.
Gary's with social differences make him easier to connect with his specific rival. Then again I probably just read too many nuzlocke comics. XD

Can't argue with you there patience can make almost any on a great one. But I sometimes lack patience and grinding is the hardest part of the game for me. Hyperfang is a nice payoff though.
Yeah the friendly rivals are a little weird. They try to be intense and friendly at the same time. At least with jerk rivals you can justifiably hate their guts. The friendlies always make me think I'm just a lousy trainer when I lose to them.

Also, with the latest rival in X/Y I was so dissapointed in their teams all the time. But that's another story.
In emerald you at least had 2 rivals and the other was kind of an ass because they showed up in the most unexpected places 'd
