The composition is so claustrophobic and yet I can really feel the depth of everything. I also like how the tones really enhance the color of the eyes.

Haha... I have to say, it was VERY claustrophobic when I shot it. It was my first shot at something wide angle.

I just got the kit lens 18-55 for my K10D. I needed something a bit wider.

I have the 50 f1.4 and it is amazing, brilliant from around f4.0 and up, you lose some resolution from 1.4 to 2.8, But 4.0 is brilliant, and a great bokeh. I would love to get the 50-135 f2.8, but since I moved, it will have to wait.
Not sure if you are a member, but it is a great source of reviews and experience for Pentax users: [link]

well check out the Pentax Forums, their lens database has so many reviews, it is indispensable for deciding where your money is best spent. I would definitely stick with the 50 f1.4, much cheaper and 99% as good. The extra money would be better spent on the 77mm f1.7 if you were looking for the UBER-portrait lens - it is rated as one of the 10 best lenses made. It runs around $650, but you get what you pay for, it is all metal, and brilliant glass optics. Superb resolution and color rendition.

This is a really powerfully piece. The green eyes make a great contrast with the black powder paint. I'm loving your new works!

Just...Wow. I love the expression, the minimalism, the vulnerability, that paint, and of course the eyes. They're so amazingly green. I'm really liking how everything seems just a little out of focus...except the face.
