Wonderful image! I love the make up with the smudged darkness and the tracing of the "veins" and the expressiveness of the pose, especially her hands. The image reminds me of the soot darkened coal miners, but the extra details from makeup make her seem a bit alien. I think you've captured the emotion of your description perfectly.
