NOTE!: Work in progress, everything but the waistcoat itself are just placeholders so far !!! ^^
Jacob Frye Cosplay WIP / Waistcoat / Assassin´s Creed Syndicate
I just finished my waistcoat and I´m kinda glad how it turned out.
A crafting buddy shared a clean version of the waistcoat-flower-pattern with us wich spared me a lot of work,
so I transfered it to a template and used acrylic paint to apply it onto the vest itself.
It also contains a little pocketwatch-pocket on its right side ;DD yaay ...
I hope you like it !
(I still might change some bits about it though

Unfortunately my templates wouldn´t really be usefull, by know they are full of paint and pretty damaged
Not even I could make any more use of them ... but essential (consisting of 4 seperate ones ) it is a pretty easy pattern
to figure out yourself . I just drew them on some transparent plastic sheet - cut out the pattern itself ... and that´s the template

I saw u took ricks advice and make the patten upside down for one side. Looks really gd tho. Seems like the paint idea could work! Awesome!

And yes, I did know that the right side had to be upside down but I doubt I would´ve noticed that the lower part of the
left side is upside down aswell .... since it looks a bit out of place and doesn´t seem to make much sense (but when do those outfits ever do right ?) hahaha
So I´m very glad Rick pointed that one out aswell
and yep , it worked out alright for me ^^ even tho it took it´s time ^^ but I didn´t know any better than painting it

Love the stenciling on the fabric! I think it looks pretty good! What did you use for binding around the edges? Is it fabric or (faux)leather?

I used some spare fabric wich i cutted fitting to the vests edges .
I know in some versions the edges of the main coat look either like leather or fabric , but I think the waistcoat should be fabric ^^

Yeah agreed on the wasitcoat itself being fabric. I bought some green/silver brocade with a leafs pattern, no accuracy there pattern-wise but it does fit nicely

I think you´ll be fine with having a fabric with a similar pattern
That was my plan at first aswell , but then I decided to get it a bit more accurate -just cause haha ....and this green fabric I found had this cord like texture - just like
the original aswell !
I see what you mean haha but then again , we don´t really know much about jacob yet ^^
For me it does not really depens on the character I´m working on, I just try to give it as accurate I am able to make ^^ (!TRY! ;D )
-hoping I might increase in doing so with every new cos ...

Von dem Blumenmuster auf der Weste bin ich sehr fasziniert!
ich hab mir auch eingebildet, Jacob dieses Jahr zu machen und micht graust es schon regelrecht davor die Weste zu machen

aber die wolle verträgt sich gut mit der Acrylfarbe , --- die ist mit etwas Wasser verdünnt ist ... demnach versickert die geradewegs im Stoff was son
gräulichen Schimmer hervorbringt, den ich ganz gerne mag haha
Aber gleichzeitig verwischt es dann auch nicht
...dauert halt seine Zeit die vier Muster überall im gleichen Abstand aufzutragen ^^
