Hehehe. Even in the alternate universe, Zilla gets mocked. I will admit, though, I do like the idea of a more tactical titan.

I liked the cartoon, which I didn't get into until earlier this decade after not seeing it in the late 1990s to early 2000s. But hey, it was cool!

Is this the coloration of the original Zilla? The one that laid the eggs?

I have a doubt! This Zilla is the one from the 1998 movie or is Zilla Jr. the one from the TV series?

I think this guy gets hated a little too much.
I know the movie was a disapointment for hardcore fans, but this guy is still a really awesome monster.
If Godzilla is a semitruck, then Zilla is a sports car. He outflanks and outwits his oponents rather than crushing them with sheer force of muscles.

Thats true, in the comics Zilla put up a good fight against Godzilla by using its greater speed and manuverability to outmanuver the bulky Godzilla.Β

You too, furry bastard. Don't you think it's weird for somebody to be calling a monster's hands "delicious"? The hell's up with you?

The only real change I can put my finger on here is that it's a bit more dynamic than the canon design. Her features are... pushed out, I guess, for a feeling of constant motion. It works well for a "scrappy, nimble little sister" feel.

Except Zilla's a male in canon. Junior is, anyway. Komodithrax, the mutated Komodo dragon he fell in love with, was a female.
The one that became Cyber-Zilla is a bit iffier but it was almost always called the biological father of Junior in the episode where Cyber-Zilla appears in the animated series (being called the birth mother only once).

Zilla is referred to as male for no other reason than our culture tends to perceive Godzilla as male - she laid eggs through parthenogenesis, the CGI model was given female genitals, and she's a lizard, so we can more-or-less use real world lizards as a base. Now that the two are more concretely separate characters, that's no longer an issue.
Komodothrax fertilized the egg herself - something real komodo dragons are capable of in the absence of a male - so Jr's sex isn't really a factor there.
At *best* both are hermaphroditic, or Sr. is female while Jr. is male, since some parthenogenetic lizards give birth to only male offspring in the absence of a mate.
I'm going with female though, because I'm used to it, because we need more female kaiju, and because no one's going to deprive me of lesbian lizards.
